El Zocalo in Mexico City has so much to see and do. On you're way there stop into one of the churches that lie on the main street leading to el Zocalo. Besdies being historical, they're amazingly beautiful. You can also indulge in the many little stores that line the street. At the Zocalo, there seemed to always be something going on whether it was a rally or a protest, street performers, or Indian dancers. I went almost every day during my stay because the many people around like school children in uniforms, wind-up harmonica players, soldiers, tourists, vendors, etc, gave the square so much energy and a great ambience.
