My husband and I stayed at Casa de los Milagros for one week during Day of the Dead. We stayed in La Gloria room; it is the smallest room with a double bed. The room is quite small, but it suited our needs.

We loved the breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt, amazing granola, juice, bread, and a traditional Mexican second course that changed everyday (quesadillas, eggs with chilies, sautéed veggies, pancakes, etc.)

Our hosts, Adriana and Rene were amazing. We enjoyed their company every morning.

Oaxaca must conserve water, so our hot water only lasted for about 120 seconds in the shower. It was shocking at first, but we adjusted. Also, you cannot flush toilet paper, so I recommend buying a scented candle at the market to combat the smell in the bathroom.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the B&B. It was a very quiet retreat in the middle of the city.

My husband and I just returned from a week's stay at La Casa de Los Milagros. This is our second trip to Oaxaca and once again, it was perfect! Milagros is only 5 blocks from the Zocalo, and is very close to the restaurants and shops. It's on a busy street, Crespo, but overall the house is quiet and less hectic than other places. The hosts, Adriana and Renee are very knowledgeable about what tourists want to see and make every effort to make their guests comfortable. They arranged for a driver to take us to the outlying villages and called to make reservations for another couple to get to the coast. The staff leaves around 3:00 pm and the house is left completely to the guests. There are only 3 rooms, one down and two up. We stayed in the downstairs room, the one with the small garden in the shower. If we had wanted to, we could cook in the kitchen as long as it was clean for morning breakfasts, which are phenomenal with fresh fruit and Oaxacan dishes. This family owns two other B&B's in the city and they are equally wonderful, but Milagros is my favorite. I cannot say enough good things about this city, this B&B and the family who owns it.

“Lovely Casa de los Milagros”

My husband & I have just returned from a week's visit to Oaxaca & stayed at the lovely Casa de los Milagros. The B&B is housed in a beautiful old colonial home with only 3 bedrooms...ours even had a small garden & waterfall in the shower! The house is spotless & very well appointed right down to a hair dryer & an in-room safe.

There are 2 rooftop decks and one has a wonderful view of the city. The location is perfect being a few short blocks from the Zocalo & close to many fine restaurants. The house has a wonderful selection of books on local artisans, free Wi/Fi & even laundry service can be arranged. A beautiful home made breakfast featuring local specialties is served daily by their lovely housekeeper, Lucy.

The charming owners Rene & Adriana were so helpful giving us suggestions & information on restaurants, museums, landmarks, ruins & artists. They also arranged for a wonderful English speaking driver who was not only knowledgeable but extremely patient & we were able to see many artisans at work in their own homes.

We had heard rumors of political problems but we never encountered anything of the sort. We only received constant kindness from everyone we met & would not hesitate to go back in a minute!

From the minute we arrived, both Rene & Adriana made us feel like we were staying in our own home with friends. We can't wait to return & will surely stay with them again!

“Best B & B in Oaxaca”

La Casa de los Milagros B&B

5 of 5 stars
Asheville, NC
Mar 21, 2007

My wife and I have visited Oaxaca many times in the past, but our stay, this time, at La Casa de los Milagros has been the best. Not only because Milagros is a beautiful and artistically furnished house, but because our hosts Rene and Adriana made us feel welcome in their B & B as though it was their home.
The breakfast in the mornings were splendidly prepared and served. We can recommend this B & B without any reservation.
Milagros has only three beautifully furnished and spotless rooms that provide privacy and the feeling of being in your own home. Guest have access to a large comfortable living room, internet ,TV, two spacious roof decks and a gourmet kitchen.

“Absolutely Gorgeous!!”

La Casa de los Milagros is a perfect place to stay in Oaxaca. The location is just a short, pleasant walk to the zocalo and all the attractions but being a little outside the center you get to feel like a local instead of a tourist.

The hosts, Adriana & Renee set a beautiful table and provide a delicious traditional breakfast each day. Once the rooms are cleaned you have the house to yourself. The living room is filled with interesting books on Oaxacan folk art, the roof top terraces are a perfect place to sip a margarita and read in the sun. The three guest rooms are clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated.

The whole atmosphere is beautiful, friendly, peaceful and perfect!
