“Casa los Arquitos B&B is convenient, quiet, and safe!”

Casa Los Arquitos B&B

5 of 5 stars
Livingston, TX
Feb 20, 2008

Casa los Arquitos B&B is convenient, quiet, and safe! Our group of four found this B&B to be spotlessly clean as well as attractively decorated. It is centrally located in a residential neighborhood and within an approximate ten minute walk to the Zócolo. We stayed six nights and found the accommodations flawless; with reasonable rates that included an endless supply of water, free internet service and a gourmet breakfast artfully served by innkeeper, Jose, while his wife, Patricia, remained in the kitchen creating not only a delicious meal but one deserving of a photograph. Whenever we had a question or request, either one or the other innkeeper responded in a timely fashion. We would especially recommend this B&B for the single traveler for its convenient and safe location. At the end of our stay, we asked Jose if he would be willing to drive us to the near-by bus station and he graciously did. He and his wife also agreed to prepare our last breakfast an hour early to accommodate our departure schedule. We would gladly return to this lovely B&B when we find ourselves in Oaxaca next!

The three of us spent eight wonderful days at Christmas time in Oaxaca. Casa Los Arquitos was a terrific home for our visit. It was in a quiet neighborhood, only a short walk from the throbbing heart of the city - the Zocolo. Our hosts Juan and Patricia welcomed us like we were visitors to their home. Patricia has obviously lovingly decorated the courtyard and rooms. We stayed in the upstairs suite, which had a kitchen that we were looking for when booking rooms. Juan and Patricia went out of their way to make us feel welcome; including tour suggestions, booking us taxis for sightseeing, and including us in the neighborhood posada. They served a healthy breakfast of granola and yogurt, pan, fresh fruit and fresh fruit juices plus coffee or hot chocolate.
Oaxaca itself has so much to offer from cultural exchanges at the markets or zocolo, to the ruins, cathedrals and museums. One highlight of visiting before Christmas was sharing in the posadas, Radish Festival, and Christmas eve celebrations. We enjoyed the festive atmosphere we shared with the Oaxacans. There were not many tourists until after Christmas, giving us the opportunity to participate alongside the locals. Many people often expressed their gratitude for us choosing their city for our Christmas vacation, as their livelihood depends on tourism. Everyone is super friendly and very helpful. We are looking forward to booking another stay with Juan and Patricia to explore more of Oaxaca!

“enchanting casa los arquitos”

Casa Los Arquitos B&B

Dec 11, 2007

Juan and Patty the owners are the most warm and caring people I met during my trip. My stay in casa los arquitos was relaxing and quiet. Juan and Patty do what ever they can to ensure that you feel welcome and have a tranquil experience in their home., which was a beautiful contrast after spending days walking, touring and having ongoing amamazing and stimulating experiences in Oaxaca. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and full of Mexican charm, in a quiet and interesting historical part of town, just far enough away from all of the traffic, but close enough for a lovely stroll to shops, markets, great cafes and resturants. There is also a great organic market just a few minutes away 2 days a week, and the food is outstanding; fresh produce as well as locals cooking really interestng and delicious organic snacks. Casa los arquitos is really a hidden gem in the most tranquil area of Oaxaca.

“Great B&B Casa Los Arquitos”

Casa Los Arquitos B&B

Nov 9, 2007

We spent 4 nights at this well positioned B&B. The room was very nice, very clean and comfortable. Our hosts Juan and Patricia were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay in Oaxaca.
Casa Los Arquitos is well positioned for the historical part of the city, within a short walk of the main sites and with plenty of good restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk.
We have very good memories of our time in Oaxaca and would recommend the Casa Los Arquitos as a friendly, well situated and affordable B&B.

“Can't say enough about Casa los Arquitos”

Casa Los Arquitos B&B

5 of 5 stars
Los Angeles
Sep 5, 2007

Our stay at Casa los Arquitos was unforgettable. We wanted to spend our time in a place that felt as close to home as possible, without the sterile feel of a hotel--and this was it. When we arrived we were surprised to see how tasteful the room was decorated, despite it being so affordable. We found ourselves taking pictures of everything on our cobblestone street (Rufino Tamayo). Although it is about 7 blocks from the Zocalo, the location was totally worth it. We looked forward to the walk down to the Zocalo. The rooms were cleaned everyday, the breakfast was a refreshing way to start our day, and having internet access was a plus. Juan and Patricia were more than happy to give us information regarding the city's history and places to see. They offerred us the option of going on a private tour with a reliable taxi driver. As a result, we got a close-up of nearby towns.

Juan and Patricia went beyond their role of hosts and were there for us when I injured my ankle at the Monte Alban ruins. I had to be transported to the Red Cross hospital via ambulance. It was reassuring to see them at the hospital when the ambulance doors opened. Patricia is a doctor so I was relieved to know that she was observing my treatment as well. The extra-special care they provided was something only a family member would do. They didn't even charge for all the extra work they did. We look forward to returning to Oaxaca and staying at Casa los Arquitos where we spent 12 magnificent days.
