This a property not worth going back to: I can't say that about most trips that I have been on in the past few years.maybe 20
1 Front desk wont let you in a room until after 3 but if you tip the manager he will get you in right away
2 bar is under staffed ,unless you like martinis without olives I did not get any except the first day???
3 you get to go to the fine dining restaurant only once for each week but you have to beg for a table the day of your booking the table then when you get there, you will find aprox 20 tables 8 occupied 2 waiters no bus boys and I asume since they can only handle one tabel each the place is only 1/3 full but your host will tell you that they are booked solid for days and days?? maybe they should hire a few servers to acutualy give you service???
OH by the way, when they take your order be prepared to give your entire order at the same time and if you want water or bread speak up cause they seem to only give it if you demand it
4 The entertainment was very bad / If you are looking for a show be prepared to see the one they had one night, The rest is your fellow guest, who probably were to drunk to remember their on stage entertainment!
For a few dollars more go anywhere else

I would only recomend this place to my ex wives or other people that I dislike!

hope this helps

Ron

my friend and i stayed for two weeks at the beach paradise.

We are both 29 and from start to finish our holiday was great.

The hotel was very clean rooms were brilliant we had a sea view,

The food was great good selection.

The staff could not have been any nicer very helpful.

I would recommend this hotel to young and old alike the beach was right next to the pool very beautiful and the buses run 24 hours only 30 peso into town.

The clubs were great if you go with the hotel you don't have to wait in line they take you straight in with your own area and waiter.

go and enjoy alyson and clairexx

Hi, as this was my first trip in the south I had big expectations.
Most ...of my expectations were met. When we arrived at the hotel they gave us the ``penthouse suite``... no hot water, no air conditionning and the joined balcony did not lock (safety issue). They did not want to change our room till the next day, as they did. The second room was great, no problem's, very clean.

The buffet restaurant was for the most part pretty good. Alot of choice so you were sure to find something you liked. The Mediteranien restaurant was amazing!! Great food great atmosphere and good service. We also liked the Little italy restaurant.

The beach...wow absolutlely amazing! Actually one of the nicest on the strip. No rocks only white sand. But not alot of beach chairs only around 10. Other hotels had two to tree times more.
The intertainment... not so good if you're planning staying at the hotel at night the show is very amateur. But the alcool help's:).

All around it was a pretty good vacation but the next time ill put in a couple buck's more and go the a 4 star hotel. But I still recommend this hotel.

“Absolutely awesome!”

The Hotetur was great. We had such a great time and we will likely return next year.

The Good...
-The food. With a few exceptions, the food was great. All-inclusive is the way to go!
-The drinks. Other reviewers have said the drinks were watered down. Not true. They were very good at all 3 bars.
-The employees. Every single employee we spoke to there spoke excellent English. They were all so very friendly.
-The pool. Maintained well and kept pretty clean. Interesting design, because 2 separate pools connected.
-The entertainment! Jorge & Christian were so awesome. They were so funny and made sure everyone had a good time.
-The hotel itself. It was kept very clean and maintained very well. Everywhere you go you will find someone cleaning.
-Ocean/Beach view from rooms and restaurants.
-Check-out time was 12:00. Upon finding out that our shuttle bus wouldn't pick us up until 2, they let us keep our bracelets so we could eat and drink until we were picked up.
-The beach. It was cleaned at the end of every day and smoothed over to where it looked like it had never been walked on. Every morning, someone would go and clean all the seaweed and any other debris brought in by the tide.
-The shower. The shower was big enough for 3 or 4 people at a time. We loved it.

The Bad:
-Our rooms(we had 2) were so hot. Everyone in the hotel that I spoke to said their rooms were unbearable. It probably didn't get below 80degrees in our room at any time. The A/C seemed like it didn't work at all and just the fan would blow. The humidity in each room was so bad that everything, (I mean everything) was wet. The floor (tile) was slick because it was wet. We had packs of gum that we had to throw away because after the 2nd day, each piece was soaking wet. The couch smelled sour because it was soaking wet. As soon as you would get out of the shower, you would be sweating again.
-El Mirador. It was not always bad. Sometimes it was excellent. But, always get supper at The Mediterranean restaurant or Little Italy. Breakfast and lunch are OK at El Mirador, but don't go to dinner there.
-Timeshare. Unfortunately, the hotel allowed timeshare agents to have 2 spots in the main lobby for timeshare people. Timeshare people are very pushy, will not take no for an answer and the Hotetur management should not allow them to be there in the resort. This is just something that people shouldn't have to deal with each time they walk around the hotel.

Overall we absolutely loved the Hotetur Beach Paradise. The good definitely outweighs the bad, and for the price you pay, it is very much worth it. We will probably book here again next year.

On a side note: at the Cancun airport, DO NOT stop and talk to the people at the right side before you go out to find your shuttle. They are timeshare. One of the men there so us walking holding our vouchers and said "I am with Expedia. Are you waiting for your ride?" Upon replying yes, he took our pick-up vouchers from us, then led us over to his table where he kept us for almost an hour trying to get us to book several 'free' things in exchange for going to listen to a 9 (yes, nine) hour presentation. He refused to give us our papers back until we just grabbed our papers and walked out quickly.

I will submit pictures of the Hotetur and try to put up a video showing the hotel.

“Our experience at the Hotetur”

Hotetur Beach Paradise

Apr 11, 2008

This was our about out 8th trip to MX. We stayed at the Hotetur for one week in April, 2008. Upon arrival, we were informed that unless we paid $45.00, each for the all inclusive fee, that we could not even buy a drink. Since it was late at night it was not worth it.

I then asked the guy in charge at the front desk if we could just have a drink. He then said every guest was entitled to a free drink upon arrival. My wife and I then went to the bar for our "free" drink, and the bartender said he knew nothing of such a policy, and refused to give us our free drink. Even though the bar was 20 feet from the front desk, the bartender was not about to look over to the front desk & confirm, but was quite content to have me walk back around the bar & behind where he was standing & then over to the front desk, & then the front desk told him to give us a drink, or words to that effect , in Spanish.

The bartender then grudgingly poured us a lemonade- no booze, mind you. We were too tired to argue, so just let it go. After that experience, we just decided it was not worth it to do the "inclusive thing" at $90.00 a day for the two of us, and just ate and drank elsewhere.

Not one of the staff was friendly to us, w/ the exception of the maid that cleaned our room. In fact, she was the only person nice to us the whole week we were there.(Excluding the guests - who were very nice). We were treated w/ a sort of benign indifference by all other staff our whole stay. Further, the English speaking skills of almost all the staff was poor, to nonexistent, which made things a bit more difficult.

The room was nice enough, and the beach was awesome. The pool area filled up w/ people claiming their spots with towels & other personal items at dawn, even though there were signs specifically prohibiting the practice. No one enforced the rule, & there were a lot more guests than space at the pool, or for the chairs at the beach. The pool was clean, though and overall, the place was pretty well maintained.

There was no television in our bedroom, (other guests queried said they had one in their bedrooms), the microwave did not work, & there was tape glue all over our windows (left over from Katrina a couple of years before, I suspect). We called about the TV the first 3 days before giving up, and each time the person at front desk would say it would be taken care of. It became our personal joke every time we came back to the room. We would "make believe" that the management had actually followed through.

Notwithstanding the indifference of the staff, the lack of space at the pool, and the outright rudeness of the bartender, we had a great time, and overall, the facility was clean & pretty well maintained.

The check out time for our room was 10 am, so I dutifully checked out to comply. Then, my wife needed to make a local phone call, but they had already shut the phone off, and refused to turn it back on. They told her to come down to the front desk if she wanted to make a call. She went to the front desk. They then refused to let her make a local call, and denied that they had told her that (it was like two minutes before & she was talking to the same guy!). After a considerable amount of pleading, arguing, cajoling etc., he finally let her make her local, one minute call.

Was it a bad to place to stay? No, but if I return, I will return w/ reduced expectations, & then I think everything will be fine. My rating? A 2 - 21/2 star on a 5 star scale. The sad thing is that most of the problems encountered could be easily remedied w/ good management attitude, & more attention to common courtesy & customer service.
