I planned this trip, a girls getaway, and researched and read reviews until all of the resorts started to look the same. I had stayed in CanCun and the Mayan Riviera before, so decided to try Cozumel. The resort grounds are nice, there are lizards and flamingos and peacocks, and the hut style rooms look neat from the outside. Inside was a different story. The first thing we noticed was the overwhelming musty smell. I thought it might just be our room, but unfortunately our friends room smelled the same. I inquired about the smell at the front desk and they told me it was kind of normal and they would come spray, which they did and it helped, but only for a short time. The rooms are just kind of dreary and need updated. Maybe that would not have been to bad if the food was good, but it was nasty. I survived on Guacamole and chips and some of my friends ate trail mix they had brought with them. I don't know if it was just the time ot year or what, but they food was disgusting. They had hotdog pizza one day, then caper pizza and bologna quesadillas! I was just afraid to eat most everything. We could have paid not that much more and stayed at the Paradisus or Moon Palace on the Mayan Riviera and lived like queens! I would never recommend this resort and will probably never return to Cozumel. We met some people on the way home that had stayed at the Oxidental Grand and stated the food there was awful also.
