“Not bad”

We looked up reviews on tripadvisor and this was one of the top ranked. The price was reasonable, and we did not expect 5 star accomodations. The rooms were clean, but a bit aged and our room was a bit musty. The kitchen left a bit to be desired as the appliances (sink, fridge, and microwave) were a bit old too. But overall not bad. There is not a pool there, but a patio with outdoor furniture to sit outside. They mentioned that they are in the process of some renovations (furniture). The rooms are 2-story suites which was nice. The location was good as it is right in the middle of town so is near lots of places to eat, etc. We were there to dive, so it was near the dive shops. The docks that the boats leave from is only a few blocks away, so you are the first on the boat. Not necessarily the best thing as it can be a long boat ride to pick up the rest of your group from their pier and get to the dive site. So that is one disadvantage to staying in town. But you have much more flexibilty to eat and do what you want in town so we were glad we were there. There isn't really a beach in town, which would also be an advantage to staying at a resort south of town. We didn't mind much though since we were diving every day. Just depends on what you are looking for. The caretakers at Villa Las Anclas were very nice and we enjoyed talking to them. They will arrange a taxi for you from the airport to the ferry, but take the bus. Much cheaper and the buses are very nice.

Me and my fiance stayed at Las Anclas for the last 4 days of our trip to Cozumel. The garden area was very nice and the view from our living room window was nice. Pedro and Eyal were very friendly and gave us good advise while we were there. During our stay huricane felix formed and headed for Mexico. Pedro and Eyal kept watch on the weather channel and kept us informed of where it was going. The rooms are more like small apartments than hotel rooms. The sofas in the living area are big enough to sleep on if you have more than 2 people ( or you get in the dog house ) lol The TV gets lots of English speaking channels "mostly HBO.Cinnimax, Showtime . The kitchen area has a sink, dishes, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, bottle of water everyday, housekeeping does the dishes, and coffee and sugar. If you need something from the store ask Eyal or pedro where to go ( some stores have "tourist prices". The bathroom has a hairdryer, and the best water pressure you could ask for, and the sink counter has lots of room. the sleeping area has two big open front closets with shelves. I want to thank Pedro and Eyal for a great stay. I would highly recommend Las Anclas to anyone.

I am not sure there is too much to add to the prior reviews... Villa Las Anclas is a great choice in Cozumel. We (our family of four) did it as part of a vacation to get certified (and used Blue Angel Dive Shop, with whom they are associated: another very good choice). Pedro was able to set it up for us, and the instructor (Juanito) came by the Las Anclas shortly after we arrived to get us started. That worked out perfectly as it gave us a whole day to explore the island at the end of our trip before flying off. Recommendation: do plan to go to the east side of the island for a drive and to play at one of the beaches. We found that Playa Bonita worked quite well. On the downside, we stayed there so long that the national park was closed (4:00 pm) when we continued our trek.

“A great second visit”

We stayed for the second time at VLA for a week in May. We had two couples in two rooms. We returned with our friends, based on the fine visit we had two years previously. The Villas are the place to stay in Coz if you want a close in but private place with clean, air conditioned rooms. It's so convenient--5 minutes walk to dozens of restaurants or shopping, and Pedro will take you to Blue Angel for diving each morning....Be ready to leave at 8 a.m.

When we return to Coz we will rebook with VLA. No reason to stay elsewhere, unless you need a beach at your front door.

Try La Chef restaurant down the street, or Especias. We enjoyed both, as well as the usual favorites--La Choza and Pancho's Back Yard.

My boyfriend and I visit Cozumel frequently. On our last visit while walking through town, we stumbled across this beautiful place and stopped in. There we met Eyal and Pedro. They were so friendly and showed us around, and we loved it. When we decided to visit Cozumel again, there was no thinking about it, we knew we wanted to stay at Villas Las Anclas! We went with our two 17 year old sons. Our rooms were clean and cozy, and we had more than enough space. The garden was a great place to drink my morning coffee. The location is convenient and close to everything. Eyal and Pedro know everything there is to know about the island, and they seem more than willing to help out. The restaurant recommendations were great. Having been there 6 or 7 times, I thought I had eaten everywhere, but they really showed us some new delicious places.

The island is beautiful and has so much to offer, but honestly and big part of the good time we had there was simply chatting with both Eyal and Pedro. They are memorible people and we really enjoyed our time with them at their beautiful place. No question where we will be staying when we return- Villas Las Anclas! Thanks guys- and I will be sending Eyal some movies soon!
