Coral Reef Inn

The Coral Reef Inn is a great place to stay if you are looking for a place that is friendly, clean and comfortable.
3 things we liked - accomodations, location and diving.
Accomodations are impeccably clean and I am picky. The beds are comfortable and clean. The AC is quiet and effective for the nights and not necessary in the daytime. The bathroom has a very large, all tile, spotless walk in shower. The third floor common area including open kitchen are just like home.
Location - The inn is a short walk (5-7min) from the main street that runs along the water. At the corner is the supermarket that has everything you need. They have food and beverage from the simple to the gourmet.
Diving - We have logged over 100 dives around the world and found Cozumel to be 4 of 5 stars. The reefs were healthy. The fish and other creatures were plentiful and the prices were reasonable.
The thing we loved were the people. Your hosts, Jerry and Leoni are just the right amount of friendly....talkative and helpful but not intrusive at all. The locals were all very friendly and helpful with our extremely limited spanish.
We do a lot of business travel/entertaining, all-inclusives and 5 star hotels . We found this Inn and the local, less touristy restaurants a refreshing break from cookie cutter travel. We definitely will be back.

“Best Hosts Ever”

Coral Reef Inn

Mar 5, 2008

What a beautiful Inn! Our hosts were the best ever. They made me feel like I had been their friend for the last 20 years.

The location was walking distance to the main shopping and restaurant areas of Cozumel and was handy to a huge grocery store if you preferred to eat in the spacious and well equipped common dining area on the top floor of the Inn. They are well set up for Scuba Divers also. The pictures on their website are absolutely accurate.

The Coral Reef Inn was a tremendous value and I'd recommend this to anyone. I will go again.

“Sensational Stay”

Coral Reef Inn

We stayed there on Feb 7th and 8th, 2008. We only planned to stay one night as we had an all inclusive resort booked close to Playa Del Carmen, but we enjoyed it so much that we stayed an additional night. We were warmly greeted the minute we arrived by 2 absolutely fantastic hosts. Gerry and Leona made us feel like we were home away from home. The Inn was in walking distance of the main street in Cozumel and close to a major grocery store with ATM and liquor (everything you need). Our 2 other friends were there at the same time so we all went to the beach (Mr. Sanchos) which we highly recommend. It was beautiful. Gerry and Leona recommended a fabulous restaurant there called Guidos (Italian). The food and service was superb. The Coral Reef Inn was the highlight of our trip. It was clean, comfortable and we would go back in a second. We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Cozumel or to any divers. There is even a special place at the Inn where you can clean all your gear right there. We will definitely be back.......

I found out about the Coral Reef Inn using Trip Advisor, and was able to book a room and diving package using the Inn's website for a last minute trip. I work for an airline, and often times travel spur of the moment. The Inn was everything that Trip Advisor said it would be, and worked out great for my
trip. I'll be back.

“Fabulous experience”

My brother and I just returned from a 10 day diving trip to Cozumel in which we stayed in the Coral Reef Inn. I cannot say enough positive things about the place or the proprietors. Jerry and Leona really went above and beyond to help us in any way and make our stay enjoyable. When the harbor was closed, they invited us to ride down to Punta Sur with them and snorkel. Not likely to happen at many other motels. The hotel itself is a small 5 room affair that was designed with SCUBA divers in mind. The room was spacious and clean with two queen beds, and a dorm sized refrigerator. The bathroom was excellent with a large shower and we never had an issue with hot water. There is an open air kitchen on the third floor with dry goods storage and ample room in the refrigerator for guests. There was also a propane grill available for guests use and the Chedraui grocery store a couple of blocks away made for a low cost alternative to eating out every meal. Potable water and ice were also available as well. There is also a shower and hose to rinse gear with as well as hangers and a rinse tank. They also offered a discount for SCUBA diving with Dive Paradise for any divers out there. We used the pier at the Hotel Barracuda and were able to store our gear down there as well. While the hotel is a few blocks away from the water, the walk was pleasant and the exercise welcome. It is across the street from Iglesias Corpus Christi and corners a park that was pretty active for cultural events on the weekends. We had a great trip and a great stay and look forward to going back and staying with Jerry and Leona next year.
