Have been going to Coz since 1991, love the diving , people and island. I don't do all-inclusives and have stayed at most the downtown hotels and some house rentals over the years. Found La Casona Real through a friend. Couldn't have been happier with the choice. Clean rooms with WiFi, a pool in the central court, gracious owners and excellent staff .
For those that haven't been to or don't know the island well, you are located four blocks inland from the main sguare. The San Francisco supermarket is right around the corner, the Fuji photo lab is right next door. Right across the street is a local cantina with great prices and delicious botanas. For the night owls there is an all night convenience store right around the corner.
For the divers there is an outside shower and clothes line for cleaning up your gear. Catch a cab to the Caleta outside the front lobby, no lugging the dive gear!
The La Casona Real is my personal favorite for Cozumel. I'll see you there again in October.

I have stayed at the hotel every year since it was built. Several members of my family and many friends have stayed at this hotel and can be contacted. The hotel is the cleanest you will find. It is such a beautiful small reasonable priced place to make your stay in Cozumel enoyable. There is a pool and patio that is open (outer walls are being repainted, should be done soon). The patio has wonderful sunning area surrounded by plants. The staff are excellent and there is a night security man. I read a comment about the noise. I hear the traffic but it is no bother and nice to see the locals on the move. If it is bothersome turn on the A/C fan. It is owned and opperated by a wonderful family. For the low price you will love Cozumel.

The hotel way reasonably priced clean and very friendly staffed but.....you get absolutly no sleep what so ever. this place is loud slamming doors all night long music til about 4 am from bar across the stree then in early morning hours when you think you may be able to catch a wink or 2 of sleep then the rooster starts in. wow we were here for 10 days and the only sleep we could get was at the beach.
