We arrived at the hotel after 6 months of phone calls and reservations only to find that our rooms were not available. We were traveling with another couple, and they attempted to put us in a suite on the second floor next to the road. When we commented that the suite had only one bed, they brought a wooden pallet and a dirty twin mattress for one of us to sleep on. Needless to say, we had a discussion with the manager, who was completely indifferent.
We spoke to several other guests that were experiencing similar problems to include no hot water, or no water at all. The beach appeared nice, but the rudeness at the front couldn't make up for it.
We ended up leaving and staying at the Avalon Resort, clean, simple, wonderful staff, cheaper and all inclusive. The Avalon literally saved our vacation and I would highly recommend them over Na Balam.
