We just returned from a week at this bed and breakfast. I was very nervous after reading so many bad reviews. We have stayed at Nautibeach on this island , this place is very different. The good things are;our room was clean and comfortable. Good air conditioning, the pool was small but very clean, the breakfast every day on the beach was very good. Frank. the caretaker is pleasant and did all he could to make our stay good. He brought me fresh orange juice every day. There is a hotel next door that has a great buffet every day for lunch. It is quiet and secluded. The bad is there is no beach, none. There was no TV or radio. The cab ride was $6.00 each way to town so dinner could get expensive. There are some hotels to walk to that serve dinner. If you want to relax this place is fine. The view is beautiful and the gardens are great. If you want a livelier time go to the north beach. North beach was a zoo while we were there. Mexico was on a two week holiday and the whole country was there.( there is no bar or restaurant at this hotel, there used to be but it is closed)

Spent the christmas holidays at Villas Hi NA HA and will never ever return there. When the taxi dropped us off at the property we hoped it was the wrong property. The hotel is very very run down and was deserted no other clients were staying there. Had an oceanfront villa that was probably nice 10 years ago but is just a mess. Loose floor tiles everywhere, nothing in the kichen worked, rusted appliances, many days of problems with no running water, old lumpy mildewy bedding and no interest by the staff to help. We requested a refund for the unused nights so that we could move somewhere more acceptable but our requests were constantly refused. At most I would give the hotel 1 star - not 4 or 5 as it advertises itself... Although Isla holds fond memories for us, we dreaded returning to the hotel every evening.. it really did ruin our vacation...

Stayed 5 night in March 2004 at Villas HiNaHa in Isla Mujeres, Mexico (island 5 miles from Cancun). Lush tropical grounds, a small clean pool, a small white sandy beach and a dock. The rooms were clean, the staff was pleasant. The price was very reasonable which included breakfast served each morning on the beach. The manager Frank even arranged a fishing trip. While not 5 start and not brand new, this bed & breakfast lacated in one of the prettyest areas of the island was just right. Two misleading items on the website - "beach bar", while present was not in operation while we were there and "purified water" - drinking water is available but you are advised not to drink the tap water. We would definiely stay there again when on Isla.

We booked the hotel via the internet and were horribly disillusioned when we arrived. The pictures on the website where beautiful showing a well cared for hotel with lovely beach and villas. Not at all what we got. The villa was run down with rusted appliances in the kitchen, no hot water and very very dirty bathrooms and many cockroaches. So much so that we never once walked barefoot in the villa, even showering with our beach shoes on. Since we had prepaid for the week, we asked Frank the manager if we could leave early and get a refund- even a partial one for the unused nights, but he said no. We looked in the windows of the other villas and all seemed to be in the same rundown condition so moving within the property really wasnt an option. The beach is man made and very small and over run with turtle grass- not really suitable for swimming. There are very lovely beaches within walking distance though. Daily, large booze cruise boats arrive from cancun with over 100 kids to the adjacent hotel. Felt more like we were in Cancun for spring break than on this island paradise. Was also unhappy with the large numbers of locals that seemed to visit the staff late at night and the early am hours, the late night revelers made us feel uncomfortable. The hotel looks as though it may have once been nice but years of wear and neglect have taken their toll. We will be back to Isla again but will find more suitable accommodations. At the nearly $200 a night we paid there are many better options

Wow! My first visit to Isla Mujeres was great! I lucked out and had a great stay even though Hi Na Ha was not in the city it was a great location. It was great to just relax and if I wanted to go to town it was easy to get a taxi or take a bus. I spent most of my time at Hi Na Ha, which is a small hotel or B&B because breakfast was included every day. It was great to start the day on the beach watching the pelicans fish and linger over breakfast. Then I would just move over to a lounge chair to read. When I was tired of that I could take a long walk along the beach or go swimming. There is a small freash water pool that was perfect to jump into when I came back from town. It was easy to walk to a resturant because there were several very close by. The beach faced west so I loved to watch sunset each night. I only had a small room and I think if I had anyone with me I'd want a larger room. The mini fridge was perfect for keeping yougert, cheese, pop and water. Feb. had such nice weather. I was there for the last 2 weeks. It was windy so I never needed to use the airconditioning. A couple of the windows had screens so I kept the windows open. Isla was a great place to relax, soak up the sun, and read. Food was freash and great. Frank and everyone at Hi Na Ha making my stay special. I'm all ready planning to go back next year with my husband and some friends.
