First of all, IM is a beautiful place. We took a taxi from the ferry only cuz we had a lot of luggage and kid, but if not, it's very walkable. The first impression of the Hotel was not good and I was thinking, internet photos tricked me. You go via a dirt road and the entrance is so back door/delivery entrance like. But, and it's a big BUT, once inside I realized, internet photos did not do justice! It's a great place. We had the 2 bed penthouse. The rooftop terrace will make your stay 100times better! We grilled steaks and wine,etc for very cheap and afterwards in the hotub sipping cognac under a clear moon sky...
Staff will take care of everything. Golf cart will be waiting downstairs if you ask for one, get your tours, info,etc . The housekeeping lady was very friendly, the beach guard ( so no one else other than the guest uses the chair) , seems like everybody was friendly.
We are definitely staying here, even if a few days when we come to Yucatan, because IM is like no other and Ixchel is the best. Don't bother going to any beach other than the Playa Norte. It's the cleanest, most relaxing, and the water is so shallow for yards and yards.. I would pay the extra to get the penthouse, cuz it is well worth the money that you pay. Oh, on our boat tour we passed by Villa Rolandi.. Did not look bad but beach nowhere near like ours. Happy I did the Ixchel.

Downside: There is still some construction noise, but it did not bother us.
