This hotel is on a gorgeous beach, and the staff are sweet and so wonderfully helpful and nice! The rooms are really, really big, and there are two large beds in each. However, the rooms could be so much nicer with just a tiny bit of effort---the decor is pretty horrible, with these nasty fake suede bedspreads and cheap Indian style cloths thrown over the wardrobe.
All OM would have to do to be a premium boutique hotel would be to add some small shampoos, creams and nicer soaps to the rooms; keep the interior design in dark wood and red, as it is on the outside; and provide a better breakfast (the 'continental' consists of cheap white toast and coffee...a fruit plate and better bread would make a huge difference). I really hope they do this, as I have stayed at three places in Tulum and very few of them are quality design hotels, though some have the potential....
