“dont expect much”

First of all, this is a budget hotel so you can't go there expecting much. I think we paid around $45 a night in March over spring break so for the price you can't beat it.
The hotel was in a residential neighborhood, there were always stray dogs and locals hanging around. Our first night there we saw a dead puppy in the street alley by the hotel and that ruined my impression from the start. The staff was friendly but not real good with english. The toilet stopped up a few times. The bed spread was old and worn, real thin in some parts... It was ok for the price but I would never stay there again, it was a long walk into town and even longer to get to the beach....Try the Mar De Cortez, thats cheap but in a prime location....I really enjoyed the Marina Fiesta but that will cost cost around $150-200 a night...

“Would try'em again, but not great.”

Not a great Hotel, but not bad for a budget. The staff was friendly, limitted english, but as accomadating as possible. When we first arrived we were very optomistic. But even before we could check in they had a mistake in our reservation. They tried twice to send us to the normal room instead of the upgraded room we had paid for. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't upgrade the room. On our third attempt we got the room we were suposed to. It was clean (clean as most hotels that is) and we were excited about how the staff made a swan out of the hand towel in the bathroom and folded the other towels to look attractive. We even took pictures hoping to post them, thinking that maybe this hotel was getting a bum wrap with people comparing it to higher end hotels. Parking can be very limitted if you get in late and you may have to park on the street. The last few nights of our stay there was no hot water due to a water heater failer. This was not a huge deal since the unheated water temp was barable. The refridgerator needed to be defrosted before it would cool efficently. The distance to Squid Row is as described, but I assume most people would prefer to drive due to the heat. I would consider staying here again because of the price and the willingness of the staff to be helpful and friendly.

Non-Hotel, Cabo report. This town is very very touristy. Very expensive for Mexico. Way too many Time share solicitors. If you attend their presentations, plan on at least double the time they promised you. Was hit up by a few drug dealers and one prostitute. If you are willing to go off the beaten path you can find some vallues. Driving was not bad here, just be cautious. One plus was the Costco on your way into town, just like the ones here, and of course your card works there also. If you need internet access, there are cafe's all over the place. $2-3/ hour and if you have your own laptop you can hookup for the same price. At the airport don't shop downstairs, the shops upstairs have better prices. You can purchase perfumes, liquor, and the like there. Have fun.

“Wasn't impressed!”

It was a little less than what we expected. The hotel was quite a distance(about a 10 min. walk to the main part of the city and 15-20 min to the beach. It was definitly off the beaten path. The reviews we read said the office staff spoke english and could arrange transportation and other arrangements but they didn't so that wasn't much help. The rooms were clean, but no blankets on the bed, and the kitchen wasn't really set up to cook in.
We probably would never go back to cabo, but if we did we would definitly stay at someplace on the beach.

“i expected more”

My boyfriend and I booked thru suntrips. First of all the website for the hotel states its 3 blocks from the hard rock and squid roe which are on the main strip. Well its about a 10 min walk. The hotel is in a neighborhood away from all the attractions. The room was clean and nice. The A/C is great along with the shower. The only thing that bothered me was that there were no elevators, luckily we only had to walk up 2 flights of stairs. There are no regular doors to the hotel room, its more like a sliding door, you know the kind you have in your house that takes you from the kitchen to the back yard. Their swimming pool was nice also. We had to ask for a iron/ ironing board, alarm clock, and hair dryer. Even though their website stated that those were part of the amenities. The room has a mini fridge, stove and plates, forks, spoons etc. We didnt use any of that. We ate out all day. We used the fridge to cool the water and alcohol. This hotel is a a good place to stay if you like to walk. I dont mind walking cause were pretty healthy, but not when were on vacation and trying to have a good time, especially on those hot nights when our tired or drunk and you dont want to walk for 10 minutes. Next time we go, were staying on a beach front hotel where we dont have to pay a taxi to take us back to the hotel after a long day at the beach. We walked to the beach everyday but took the taxi back. There are great hole in the wall restaurants near the hotel. We paid around $10-12 for a meal for 2 which also included drinks. Overall, this hotel is good for those who dont mind staying away from the crowds or busy streets and for those who dont mind walking.
