We stayed a week at Dreams Los Cabo. It was booked under the name Casa Dorada with RCI. We paid $ 86.00 per day, per person with GBS International for the All Inclusive and the shuttle trip from the airport.

Dreams Los Cabo was everything we were looking for. It was an All Inclusive resort and all we had to do is relax in the sun. The room was very nice. We had a room that had one separate bedroom with a bathroom and one room that was the living room, kitchen, dining room and bathroom. There was only 2 of us, so we had lots of space. The room was kept very clean with daily maid service. The maid really did a great job. The resort has workers cleaning all the time. There was nightly entertainment was fun. On the whole, the resort had a friendly atmosphere.

The areas of concern are; food, the pool cleaning and the servers.

The food was just ok. It reminded us of food that you would get at a Vegas buffet. Nothing too fresh and everything overcooked. The breakfast was the safest bet. I didn't have to cook, so it was alright. Just don't think you are going to get a 5 star restaurant menu and you won't be disappointed.

The pools were not clean. There were bugs floating on the top of the water ( including the famous Mexican cock roach), sand, a layer of sunscreen floating on the top.

The servers in the restaurants and the pool service was spotty. Some days it was very good, other times it was hard to find service.

Go to Dreams Los Cabo and lower your expectations and you will be fine.

“Gorgeous setting, fabulous service”

We chose Dreams for our 10th anniversary and were extremely happy with our choice! We purchased the anniversary package which made our trip extra special. We were greeted at the resort with a glass of champagne and check-in was a breeze! The pool and beach areas are gorgeous and well-maintained. The hotel is quite lovely with lots of plants, fountains, marble and beautiful courtyard areas. Lots of attention to detail. The rooms are amazing! We were upgraded to the junior suite upon our arrival. So, we had a small kitchen and living room area in addition to our large bathroom with a walk-in closet and king-size four-poster bed and two balconies...one you could sit on. The maid service was absolutely perfect with nightly turn-down service. Although they don't advocate tipping, I strongly suggest tipping the maid at the end of your visit...they are phenomenal and deserve it!

There are two pool areas, each with a swim-up bar and pool-side waiters/waitresses. The main pool is the most popular and where all the daily activities take place. Most visitors bring towels down and save a lounger and then go to breakfast. There are also private thatch-roofed cabanas on the beach with hammocks and loungers as well. The five restaurants are very good. Our favorite was Portofino, the Italian restaurant. Very high quality service and food. We never had a disappointing meal. There breakfast buffet didn't change too much...but, the food was pretty good. Lunch, whether via buffet or at the poolside restaurants is also fairly good...although, their best meals are the dinners. We only ate the dinner buffet a couple of times as the service and food at the specialty restaurants is by far the best! We didn't use the spa as the prices for all treatments are higher than most resorts we've visited...although, it is very nice...a little small.

There were some children at the resort...but, not many. It's more on the upscale side and there really aren't that many kid activities compared to hotels that cater more to families. If you are looking to take your children...I would consider somewhere more family-oriented. Although we didn't take our child with us, and knew that it was a resort that allowed children, my one suggestion to the hotel was that they simply make it an adults-only resort because that's basically what it is.

They offer a wide variety of daily activities for the adults and, being a smaller resort, it's easier to meet and get to know other patrons. The staff also get accustomed to seeing you and are very friendly. Very personal and amazingly good service...very little waiting for tables, waiters, or at the bars. Great variety of drinks as well. Would highly recommend going all-inclusive because it includes top-shelf drinks.

Overall, a supreme resort for the money and if you enjoy smaller resorts...you will have an amazing experience!

“Perfect Vacation for the Average American”

Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa

I just got back from my stay at Dreams, where I spent 7 days with my 5 year old son. I've traveled a lot around the world and have stayed at many different types of hotels, but this was my first all inclusive. The property, room, and location are wonderful. We stayed in an ocean view junior suite, which was large, well decorated, and clean.

When I first arrived and went to check in, I was greeted by a sourpuss face man at the front desk. Not one smile or any other type of inviting, friendly, gesture. After I saw our room and the view of the beach, I forgot about the rude greeting.

Our first night, we dined at their Italian, Portofino restaurant, which was absolutely awful! I'd get much better Italian food at a local NY pizzeria. The fried calamari was a joke, consisting of 4 calamari rings with seasoned breading, and overcooked to a rubbery texture. The pasta overcooked, and everything else just as bad. I was extremely disappointed and feared I was going to get stuck eating terrible food for a week. I was 90% right. Their "asian" restaurant was so bad, that we left the awful tasting sushi on our table, got up, and left. Long story short, we tried all of their 5 restaurants and were disappointed with each one. The filet mignon and ribeye steaks, which were supposedly grilled, were gray in color. It seemed as if the meat was microwaved either prior or after touching some sort of grill for a few minutes. The only seafood you will find in abundance is your average, small sized shrimp, tiny scallops, more rubbery calamari (squid), and lots of white fish they use to make their ceviche....oh and let's not forget the funky tasting array of salmon dishes. Breakfast was the only decent meal. And the only decent place to eat out of all 5 was the Seaside restaurant. It was edible, but still not of the greatest quality, but at least it was a different buffet every day, so we went hoping for the best each time and looked forward to a yummy meal, but wound up with an "it was ok".

Some of the staff were very nice and friendly, and some were unpleasant and didn't seem like they liked their jobs. Felipe, the waiter at Seaside was awesome. He went out of his way to have specially prepared desserts for me and my son, which didn't even exist on the menu. He tended to us like we were celebrities. Of course there were those waiters who were the exact opposite, too.

I also spent about $800 at their spa, which was also hit or miss. I tried their various different massage and body treatments, and the only thing I can say is, Julio, the male masseuse was AMAZING! I literally was massaged from head to toe without one word ever exchanged. He found all of my knots and massaged them out with precise pressure.

My son had a better time than I did. He spent a few hours a day at the kids Explorers Club, and loved the water slide by the pool. But there too, out of 3 of the women who tended to the kids, Gina was very rude. She loved my son the first day, and then stopped greeting him or smiling at him every day after that. Carla and Gloria were both nice, and even if the kids were driving them crazy, they kept their cool.

Overall, this place isn't bad for the average tourist, and I'm certain most people would be blown away, but for those who travel to Europe, know fine dining, and quality service, then you will be greatly disappointed. Again, it's all about where you've been and what you've seen. If you haven't seen much, then this place will be heaven for you.

Just finished a 6 day 5 night stay at the DLC and was I impressed. I was a little skeptical staying at an all inclusive...I figured that the food would be bad and the drinks watered down, but was I wrong. The resort has 5 restaurants all be it 3 of them outside or at least with a patio. They served everything from Italian to Sushi. The food was actually really good and their hamburger is the second best I have ever had, very meaty as a black angus burger should be...

I won't go on about the food and drinks but let's just say it was very nice drinking alcohol that I recognized, i.e bacardi corona etc.

The rooms were nice and the maid should be given a raise after she cleaned our rooms, which were trashed each night with beer bottles and plates of food. The staff too was very accomodating, even calling us to let us know that we were spending a little too much money on phone calls. The service at the pool was great and one of the best things that they have are employees that "recruit" you to do activities such as a putting contest, beach and pool volleyball, croquet and ping pong. The list goes on and on but I was very impressed. I definitely encourage couples to go as that seemed to be the only people there. My friends and I went for golfing and fishing and let's just say that there were NO girls there was were single.... so if you are planning on going with a group of the same sex.... look elsewhere. Otherwise this is definitely a place I would take my girlfriend or wife. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me....Adios

“Made our honeymoon great!”

My husband and I were booked at another hotel for our honeymoon and hated it! We checked out after 3 days and checked into the Dreams resort. Right away, we were made to feel special. They upgraded us to the hoeymoon package, even though they usually require a 7 day stay for that. We were given champagne at the front desk and the staff was very helpful. They allowed us to check into our room at 9 am even though check in time was not until 3. We felt there was a great variety with the food options. We loved the asian restaurant and the seafood restaurant by the adult pool- the escargot there was amazing!! The activities were great- there is a little bit of something for everyone and the staff really worked to get people involved. I was shocked by how many people were partying at the karyoke night and what a fun environment it was. The spa was absolutely stunning but make sure to book your appts as soon as possible or they might be booked up. The beach bar with the swings was so fun and such a great atmosphere- have the bartender make you a "red eye." They have themed drinks every day and those were always good. The rooms were so romantic and beautiful. We were so traumatized by our other hotel we upgraded to the honeymoon suite at Dreams, but the junior suite would have been plenty nice for us. As part of the honeymoon package, the hotel staff created a super romantic night for us one night- candles and flower petals in the room and a bubble bath was drawn. I can't say enough great things about this resort. I wish we hadn't wasted 3 days at the other hotel and could have spent our entire week at the dreams.
