Wow, where to start.... our first time to visit Cabo San Lucas so obviously our first at Casa Contenta. We were spoiled immediately as we got a brief tour as we met Craig. The views form the many beautifully decorated & landscaped levels were awe inspiring. Only 3 of the 5 rooms were taken so there was always space & privacy for anything from a solitary siesta in the early A.M. sun or a comfy sofa or chair for reading &/or meditation.
The pool & Hot Tub were set tucked in amidst some local desert plants that you could admire or check out the view of the town laid out in front of the bay & those gorgeous rocky cliffs.
The uppermost level has a 360 degree vantage point that made me feel on top of the world, or at least this slice of Mexico. Add even more comfy chairs & a warming fire pit, & you have an incredible area for sunsets, late night refreshments, use your imagination people.....
As each day rolled by & we wandered around our 'home' the comfort level increased. The spacious indoor rooms are decorated with so many eye catching knicknacks, art & pottery items. The same with the outdoor spaces, brilliantly flowered native plants with local touches of sculptures and pottery.
We relaxed, then we relaxed some more. Yet, we wanted to play in the sun & experience some activities that just aren't available in late winter in Wisconsin, our home. We had ideas of what we wanted to see & do. Our hostess, (that seems so darn formal) Lori was always available with suggestions or ideas for the best taco, local favorite dining, which dinner cruise, etc. etc. She would even phone & hook us up with reservations with friends if it fit our schedule. Also, she gave us driving directions to stay off the main roads & easy routes to our destinations or parking areas.
Every A.M. it was a joy to have a fresh cup of the brewed coffee & breathe in the freshness of the new day wearing nothing but the kimono style robes that were waiting for us in our room. Breakfast was a social affair together with our fellow travelers residing at Casa Contenta. Over delicious tropical smoothies & local breakfast delicacies created by Dora, we chatted & oohed & awed about this setting we found ourselves in. Birds provided an audible layer to our meal as if put there just for us.
"Paradise" is a word I don't use loosely, but this was our 'paradise' for 5 nights & days. Cabo & Lori & Craig's B & B are calling us back, hopefully sooner than later.
