We arrived at the Hacienda del Mar relaxed and ready to contiue our enjoyable Mexican vacation. Unfortunately, it took just a few minutes to realize that this hotel would not live up to our expectations. The front staff was incompetent and rude. It took a record hour and 45 minutes to check-in. They kept insisting that our reservation ended the previous night. After paying to use thier business center we presented more evidence that the reservation had been changed. With this in hand and a calm attitude we were FINALLY able to persuade them to make the simple phone call to Starwood that could have solved the problem in the first 5 minutes. We were given a room but not an apology. At this point there at two things you can do, you can let it ruin your day or you can shake it off and enjoy your vacation. We really did try to have a good time. We went to the pool area for a light bite and some relaxation. We could have been at any community pool in the States. No luxury, no privacy, no service. We felt like sardines packed in with many boisterous, underdressed (unfortunately) tourists clamoring for free chairs. We retired to our room which was nothing special. The highgilht of our stay was watching the whales from our balcony. Needless to say we checked out the next day and returned to the paradise we found at Cabo Azul. If you are looking for a romantic, stylish, resort where you are catered to, check it out. You have to spend an evening lounging in their poolside pods watching the beautiful display of fire bowls and water features. Just let them know that you are not interested in the timeshare presentation at check in and you shouldn't be bothered.

We just returned from a fabulous 4 day trip to Cabo. This was our third trip to the Sheraton and we loved every minute of it. The hotel is pristine, and the staff very helpful and friendly. If you want a room with a great ocean and pool view, located close to everything, and with a large outdoor terrace --- stay in room 2005! In the evening the restaurant downstairs (Tomatoes) has live entertainment, so you are also treated to nice music while watching the waves come in.

I had two spa treatments while there and enjoyed one each of them. The seaweed wrap was luxury at it's best!

The food is expensive at the hotel, so I would recommend a quick trip to Costco or Walmart for water and snacks. Walmart also has a nice selection of souveniors.

The beach vendors are fun, but I only purchase my jewerly on the beach from "Claudio", as he has very nice pieces. Should you go, tell him Dee sent you, and give him a hug for me!

We stayed at the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar for 5 nights and were impressed by it the moment we saw it. Our room was a decent size with a spacious balcony. The decor is very charming Spanish style with lots of detail around the property and beautiful fountains.
This is one of the few properties that actually have their own private beach. We mostly stayed at the infinity pool but would have to get there very early to reserve some chairs since it gets very crowded.
We didn't eat at too many of the hotel's restaurants but the last night we ate at Pityhaya's. The views were beautiful and the food was just average. But would go back there for a cocktail and an appetizer just to enjoy the spectacular view.
I enjoyed staying in the Corridor area since it was a quieter area and we rented a car so driving wasn't a problem going downtown.
I would definitely stay here again and am looking forward to my next trip to Cabo! :)

A quick trip down from LA...I was in Friday, attended a wedding there on Saturday, and was out Sunday...but had a great time. Rooms are wonderful. Food is great. Pool experience was memorable, great swim up bars. One pool is more fun, the other more low-key. Nice to have the option there. And I really enjoyed attending my buddy's wedding there at the hotel. If you are getting married in Cabo, this is the place...
