Went to dinner there after bieng completly disapointed by the MesonSacritia restaurant. The hotel dinning area on the ground floor and the bar on the top floor have a total lack of charm. The architecture is really impressive but the hotel is awfully noisy due to the proximity of the convention center, the dining area is like a big minimalist cafeteria as all the trendy spots all around the world, and the employees are cold and snob, the prices too high for just an above average class of mexican-international cooking. The bar on the top is nice but no view. Try the Heaven bar of the NH Hotel with a great view of the Popocaltepec a the sunset. NH is a greater hotel in the same style with views uncomparable and better price.

“Fabulous”

La Purificadora

After an infuriating exchange with the person in charge of bookings at meson sacrisita (the #1 rated hotel in puebla from this site) we looked into staying here, and I am delighted we did. It is a stunning architectural beauty. It is a converted convent (then factory) and the open spaces and lobby were beautiful. It was pretty empty when we were there, so we had totally attentive service, not only from the staff but the chef came out to talk to us on several occasions.
Puebla itself isn't the most exciting town to visit (you really only need a few hours to walk around puebla, then a day to see cholula and perhaps if you can negotiate it, take a cooking class at meson sacrisita- which the hotel staff arranged for us).
But staying at this hotel was the highlight of Puebla.

“Beautiful Hotel, But Horrible Service”

La Purificadora

We arrived and had heard great things about the hotel, so we decided to book a room. The hotel is beautiful, but the service is horrible. We had to ask three times before we were given a second robe in our room (which had two guests registered). Also, the showers leaked horribly, and we had to use all of the towels and washcloths to soak up the water that had flooded the bathroom area. Also, when we checked out, they owed us $20 but they did not give it to us until we called and informed them of their error. At that point, they agreed and told us they were holding it for us. Had we not called, we would have never received the money. Also, since the entire hotel is open, it was freezing and we could not even have dinner in the restaurant since it was way too cold. So, when we ordered a bottle of wine to take to our room, they informed us that every single bottle of wine under $60 was sold out (at least six different bottles), so we were forced to purchase a $75 bottle of wine.

“the most beautiful/amazing hotel i've ever stayed in”

the hotel is very hard to find (its down a very small alley just passed the convention centre by the way in case you need directions) but you'll be blown away when you see it. ive stayed in some lovely hotel (wynn las vegas, al maha dubai) but this was the most beautiful hotel ive ever stayed in.

its an old water purifying factory that has been turned into a hotel it has so many lovely features, old exposed brick walls, ridiculously high ceilings, open fires in the lobby, massive staircase in the centre, glass floors (you can see from the top floor all the way to the lobby floor!) glass balcony etc etc etc

the food was great too. only 3 neg points: when we paid they riped us off with the exchange rate (you book in dollars but pay in pesos at a hotel rate which was a bit annoying) also the internet connection in the room was a bit erratic. and the pool was close when we were there which i would have liked to have known in advance.

apart from that its amazing. sorry i haven't put any photos but check out their website there are loads of photos on it. make sure you pay extra for a room with a balcony its only about $20 extra and well worth it.

“Very cool, maybe too cool”

La Purificadora

This hotel is owned by a chain of design hotels scattered trough Mexico. I was surprised to find such a hotel in a beautiful but no exactly cool location(the colonial city of Puebla). This hotel is very impressive with huge open spaces, and a very very hip decor.

The hotel was diffcult to find since its hidden by the convention center but when we finally made it were were awed by the amazing design. The staff was very friendly in a familiar we are all cool manner, but hey immediatly switceh our rooms when we comained of cigarrette smell in the first one they assigned us.

The lobby and rooms are amizing. we had a strandard room wich had a huge withe king size bed, a really big dark wooden desk with a designer desk chair, a cool purple couch ans a shoer an toilet each with its own stall.

Some cool details in the room the glass dresser with clear hangers, flat screen TV, i POD speakers, Kihel toilettreies, complimentary evening apples, huge panoramic windows, robes and slippers (altough there was only one of each and we were two guests)

At night the hotel becaomes a hip trendy place with the locals and the resaurant is very popular (the menu was designed by a very famous chef) so reservations are a must altough hotels guests have preference over non guests. The bar is a couple of couches sourroundig circular gas fireplaces. Each grupu of couches has a comfy blanket to keep partiers warm.

On the downside the hotel is a bit noisy especially on sundays since chuch bells start toiling at 6 am and dont stop the whole day and the htel is next to a chuch. Also the air conditoning didn´t work very well and we sweated all night and room service was cold and tasteless (altough its served 24 hours a day).

The breakfast a la carte buffet was delicious, mexican with a twist, we wanted to order everything on the menu (and could have for 128 pesos or about 10 USD)
