It all depends what you are looking for if you will enjoy your stay here. My girflriend and I went for 5 days after a wedding in Puerto Vallarta in order to wind down. The grounds of the hotel are very nice and pretty well maintained. The staff is excellent and very attentive to your requests. They do not hound the guests for tips, but definitely deserve more than I saw the majority of the guests cough up for their services. The pool is nicely divided into party side, relaxation side and children's side. The beach is pretty clean, but the water is not all that clear....in fact, it was somewhat murky while we were there. They offer a variety of extracurricular activities, including basketball court, tennis court, 7-holes of putting (grass was higher than most fairways though), beach volleyball, beach soccer, shuffleboard and some other activities. However, be honest with yourself and come to grips that you will probably not take advantage of any of them. The restaurants were pretty good, but not great....and that is what should be expected with most all-inclusive unless you are paying $600+/night. The alcohol is unlimited and they are very quick to refill your glass or get you a new drink.
If you are there for a few days, take a day and go to Sayulita, which is about 1/2 hour cab ride ($30 each way) and enjoy some nicer water and old school Mexican shopping neighborhood.
The only thing I definitely would NOT recommend is the Sunset Cruise. It sounds like a nice, romantic idea, but the boat is a sailboat and not set up for "smooth sailing." They do give unilimited beer & cocktails and the crew is very good, but there is only so much they can do to make it enjoyable. There were about 25 people on out boat and more than half of them got sick. I was not one of them, but I still did not enjoy the trip. The sunset is just as nice from the beach and the drinks are free there too.
Overall, pretty good, but don't expect the trip of a lifetime.....
