We just returned from Puero Vallarta on 3/11. We decided to go all-inclusive this time. Be choose Villa Varadro. WE pick this hotel because of the size. We like a smaller hotel. It is a very basic AI, food and beverage, all served buffet styled. The food is very Mexican, each day the menu varied. WE stayed in a basic room. They also offer suites that have 1 to 2 bedrooms with kichens. The rooms and puplic area are very clean. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The pool is on the small side but very clean. The hotel caters to Mexican familes.
This hotel is located in Nuevo Vallart. It is near the Paradise Marina. The are not many restaurants or stores outside of the hotel. This area is made up of mostly All-inclusive resorts. They are self contained. A trip to town is a bus or taxi trip away. We would stay here again. The only down fall is the location.

We vacationed at the Villa Varadero in February, 2006 for two weeks. We went with our four children ranging in age from 5 to 14. We completely enjoyed our stay at the resort, we knew it was not a five star hotel but was more economical for the six of us. We found the buffet meals tasty and there was always something picky eaters could have. The rooms are older but clean and everything in working order. What we enjoyed the most about our stay was the friendly people, staff and visitors, and the beautiful beach right outsideour window. The location is really wonderful and the best beach along that side. We never had to fight anyone for a beach chair and they had boogie boards and kayaks for the children to enjoy. As I've said its not a five star hotel but it is a relaxed friendly atmosphere. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Stayed at the Villa Veradero for a week while our adult children stayed at the Mayan Palace. My yuppy children and spouses liked the Mayan for the sissle - workout room, water aerobics, great pool, fancy suite, ext. My wife and I liked the Villa Veradero - great beach,Mexican atmosphere, nice comfortable suite and very reasonable "all-inclusive". We stayed at the Mayan a day and the kids came over and stayed a day with us at the Villa Veradero. At the Mayan we sat around the pool - a magnificant pool it is - but didn't go in the ocean - did see one boggy boarder get scraped up while hitting the beach at the Mayan Palace beach. Not too many people on the beach now I know why! The kids "yuppies" spent the next day and into the night with us at the Villa Veradero. They spent a couple of hours swimming and boggy boarding in the ocean. They stayed all day and into the wee hours. The Villa Veradero has good food not fancy. A good bar - all the fancy drinks. Easy parking. A bus stop right out the door. Eduardo, the manager, and the front desk crew were very helpfull and you could kid around with them. We had a suite with a balcony on the top floor - 7th but they are actually half floors - 52 steps. My wife counted. We looked at the climb as excersise and soon it was no problemo. The sunset from the balcony, looking out over the beach into the weastern sky was almost mystical. We definitly will be back and for a longer stay. We had fun!

“Friendly, small hotel with a great location”

Villa Varadero Hotel & Suites

We chose the Villa Varadero for our family Christmas trip based on its location, small size and price.

It is the only small hotel (approx 80 rooms) in the Vallarta Nayarit area, a resort area north of PV punctuated by very large high-rise hotels and condos.

The location is great. It's right next door to the marina, there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, and the beachfront is one of the best in this whole area.

The hotel did get busy during our second week, but over the Christmas holidays, this is to be expected. Even during peak occupancy, we never had problems finding beach chairs or shady spots.

The hotel is kept scrupulously clean, and any reported problems were attended to immediately.

The food was basic Mexican 'home style' cooking. No one in our party got sick from the food or drinks.

The regular rooms are of adequate size with lots of storage space. No issues with running water or plumbing. The family suites are huge!

I would recommend this hotel to independent travellers who aren't 'high maintenance' in their expectations and are looking for a clean, charming, Mexican hotel with a lovely beach setting and very friendly efficient staff.

“Villa Varadero is a basuero”

My husband and I just returned home after 4 days of a scheduled one week trip to this hotel. We did get a very inexpensive deal on the internet, but we wouldn't stay here again if it were free! We live in Manzanillo and go to Puerto Vallarta every couple months. This hotel was the pits! Although the housekeeping staff does the best they can, the rooms are old, uncomfortable and smell of mildew. The beach is beautiful, but unless you like VERY loud music blasted at you while you try to read or relax - find another hotel. We didn't eat here, but we did take a look at the lunch buffet (which was the only thing available) and it seemed to consist of hamburgers and large trays of tomatoes & lettuce - all for 90 pesos per person. At lunchtime that day, the music being piped to all of the public areas was rap. We chose to eat elsewhere. The front desk staff was very pleasant and did their best to be helpful. It definitely is a true Mexican experience, we seemed to be the only gringos there, which is fine with us, but the place was loaded with screaming kids at the pool and in the halls.
