We travelled to the Rockies on June 18th with our two kids ages 10 and 12. We decided we were going to try staying at a hostel for fun. Usually when we travel we tend to stay at Best Westerns, Holiday Inns and the Marriot Hotels. This was our first time staying at a hostel. We were somewhat skeptical, however, it was a wonderful surprise. The hostel was very clean. The kitchen facility was very clean as well. There were reading/sitting areas, a pool table as well as a foose (sp?) ball game for the kids to play. There is also an internet cafe. In the main building which is A framed, there is a cafe. We went there for nachos and to watch the Stanely Cup Game on tv as none of the rooms have tvs or phones. We stayed in a family room. It consisted of a double bed and a loft area. In the loft area, there was a twin bed and a bunk bed set. If you have young children, the ladder leading to the loft area is not a good idea. It is rather steep and there is no gate preventing you child from falling down over 10 feet. We shared a bathroom with another room. It work out well. There are several shower rooms located on each floor as well. You are nestled amongst trees and noise levels are respected as quiet time kicks in at 10:00 pm. You have access to a B-B-Q off of the kitchen area. Bedding is provided as well as towels. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The price was great and we were minutes from Lake Louise and the beautiful chateau.
