My mother and I were on a road trip for 2 weeks, and we had one problem with a hotel prior to this one. We had been put in a room with a view of a wall, we requested a change, and there were no problems. This hotel made up for every other hotel that we stayed in that didn't have any problems...After booking 2 months in advance, we were given a room with a view of the pool roof, and a wall, as well as a window that wouldn't close and lock. We expressed our concern to the front desk staff, were told they couldn't do anything for us regarding the view for our first night, but would send maintenance to fix the window right away. Remember, they're policy is, if we can't fix it your stay for that night is free. They told us all they could do was give us a free breakfast...So, after going out for dinner and some shopping we returned to our room and discovered that no one had come to fix the window. We called the front desk, and only then did we have someone from maintenance come. He managed to get the windo to close, but he still couldn't lock it. So he was forced to jimmy it so it couldn't be opened or closed. The next day after returning from our activities, we went to the front desk to ask for our new keys as we were instructed. No one at the front desk knew what we were talking about and we were told they didn't have any rooms for us...and we were told we were in the nicest room - Not sure how bad any of the other rooms could possibly be as we were never switched - nor were we refunded any money. Not only did they tell us this, but the manager left it to a new girl who had only been on the job a couple of day, to tell us that we couldn't be switched to a different room - there wasn't a manager anywhere to be found.
