We were on the lookout for a hotel after a disaster with what we had booked. We drove into Edmonton looking for a brand name hotel such as the Westin or Holiday Inn. We saw a Holiday Inn, pulled in and they did not have any rooms but called down the road to the Greenwood Inn...it had vacancies.
We drove up and there was lots of parking. The entrance was clean and well taken care of. The clerk at the desk was professional and very efficient. We were in our room in less than 15 minutes! Very impressive considering we were walk-ins.
Our room was a little small but was incredibly furnished. They provided 2 gorgeous thick terry cloth robes which were great to use going to the pool. Everything was beautiful and you could see the attention to detail! The king size bed dwarfed the room but was so comfortable to sleep on that I wanted to take it home!
Each room had a computer cable in the desk, a computer connection on the phone, a brand new colour TV and you could even check out using the TV. The bathroom had a nice hair dryer on the wall, soaps, shower cap, mouthwash, tons of towels and 2-ply kleenex. No paper thin toilet tissue either!
The hotel has two restaurants - ABC Restaurant which was more family oriented, a little more relaxed but the food was very good and reasonably priced. Daltons, the other restaurant, was a little more elegant, actually much more elegant and the food was incredible. We had the morning buffet there and the food was perfectly cooked, service was impeccable, reasonably priced for what was offered and I really wished I could have eaten more!
The pool and Jacuzzi were both small but more than adequate. The sauna was wonderful and clean. They had dressing rooms in the shower area complete with lockers that had their own locks...what a bonus. Tons of towels sitting right near the pool with a laundry basket for them to be put into when you left. There was a really well stocked exercise room with a ceiling mounted television just off the pool area.
Down in the lobby there was a computer that was available for all the guests. You could surf the internet, check your email and even print documents if you need to. We were quite impressed with the thought put into the amenities at this hotel.
We loved this hotel and thought the location was excellent should you wish to go either downtown or to the West Edmonton Mall. We will certainly return here and recommend it highly to others.
