As others have said, the rooms are nicely appointed, with good quality bathroom amenities, good quality TV, location is in a high-activity neighbourhood. Our room faced the back, and was not noisy.
The breakfast quality was so-so, but I appreciated the hard-boiled eggs. The muffin was stale. I threw out one of the things that sort of looked lilke a croissant, as it just wasn't worth the calories.
You are no longer required to use valet parking. You can park in a lot which is about 3 blocks away for no extra charge.
Staff were friendly and as cooperative as their limited scope seemed to allow.
My biggest problems were (1) no place to put your luggage, and (2) dreadful beds.
I will start with the beds. These are just pillow-top mattresses on top of a board; there is no box spring. Although they told me the place is only 3 years old, and implied that the beds can't be in bad repair, they are. All you have to do is pull out the sheet at the side of the bed, and you will see that the mattress is broken down and sags. A mattress on a board is tolerable when you're young, and I'm sure they think it saves them some money, but it's a bad idea to only serve the young, and it's a false economy to try to save money by eliminating the necessary box springs.
When we complained about the bed, we were moved to a larger room with a fireplace. It was a very pleasant room, and the bed was marginally better - probably because, being a more expensive room, the bed had not been used as often. The problem was that there was no place at all to put your luggage, unless you wanted to leave it in the middle of the floor or trip over it when you went to the bathroom. It is one of the worst designs I have seen, for that reason. We ended up moving all the furniture around. What were they thinking?
