Miette Hot Springs Resort is located a very scenic almost hour from Jasper. The road into the Meitte Hot springs, like the road to Maligne Lake, was a very beautiful drive. The hot springs were about 18 km from the main highway….
Upon arriving, we were very happy with the place. The people running the resort were very friendly and we checked in and went to our room. We stayed in room number 40. This was a corner room. The rooms were in a hotel…. The hotel was extremely basic (and may not be for some people), everything was very clean, service was friendly and accommodating and the clientele is tourist.
The resort is right there at the hot springs. Our room basically could not be any closer to the hot springs than it was…. Even closer than many pools at many resorts to the hotel rooms….. for only $80 per night at summer rates – this was a bargain…. You will only find tourist here because it is 18 km on a small very winding highway out in the middle of the national park.)
We enjoyed the dinner we had there. We had a bison burger. (at least I think that is what it was, or maybe it was an elk burger) and then we had a very tasty blueberry pie for dessert… the prices on the food were extremely reasonable and everything was very tasty.
There is also a heard of mountain sheep that seems to love wondering around the resort - making the whole experience even more eventful.
We definitelly would recommend this small, unadvertised, rustic resort. We would also recommend this resort if you woul like to go the hot springs.
