We went to Tofino on the recommendation of some friends who spent their honeymoon there and decided to stay at the Wickaninnish to finish our rockies tour with a bit of luxury. The hotel has a great location and the room was pure luxury. One thing to be aware of is that there are two locations that you can stay; in The Beach or at The Pointe. We were lucky enough to have a room at The Pointe (301), which had fantastic views of the coast and were quite glad we weren't in The Beach as the views did not look as good and it wasn't as private. We ate at the Pointe Restaurant on the first night and although the food was good it did not warrant the $250 bill and the staff were so completely over the top it wasn't very relaxing.

The actually place of Tofino is amazing. We did plenty of whale watching and had great walks along the beaches. The restaurants in the town are just as good as the Pointe in terms of food and exceed in atmosphere and staff. Try Shelter and The Schooner.

“Beautifully relaxing and amazing food”

My wife and I stayed at the "Wick" for a brief spell during our honeymoon in British Columbia. We spent 3 nights there and the quality of the place is unmistakable. The rooms all overlook the Pacific with what they call a "wooded sea view" which essentially means there are large trees in front of the windows. They do not spoil the view however.

The best thing about the place has to be the Pointe Restaurant. Beautifully set on the cliff with a 270 degree panoramic view of the beach it is simply stunning. The food and service are also second to none. Typical fine dining food with an excellent variety of dishes and an amazing wine list (which isn't cheap by the way). I wouldn't advise eating there every night as it is very expensive and there are loads of other great restaurants in Tofino to try.

Overall a great experience and 3 nights was plenty as there isn't a great deal to do in Tofino once you've done the whale watching.

“Amazing Place - you have to go there!”

The Wickaninnish Inn & Pointe Restaurant

May 1, 2008

This has got to be the best hotel I have been to. We had an amazing view from our three massive windows - including a view from our double soaker tub!! We were on honeymoon and this really was the perfect place for that. The staff were so helpful and while we were at dinner each night (eat in The Pointe - some of the best food I have ever tasted) staff went to our room and arranged our robes in heart shapes on the bed and put some music on for us to return to - sweet touch! The open fire in the room gave it such a nice feel. The Wick Inn ia definately expensive (although not by UK standards for that level of hotel) but it is really worth it. Go there and enjoy the luxury!

“over priced”

Six of us stayed at the Wik for 2 nights. We asked to have the best rooms in the place - when we got there I noticed one of the pictures in a brochure - a much better room than we had. We were all on the third floor - perhaps the best rooms are the corner suites. I did not ask - At the restaurant we had asked for a window table 3 months in advance but were told some had booked 18 months in advance. Our reservation was for 7:30 and in my opinion they gave the window tables to those that came at 6 or 6:30. Why would they hold a window table for an hour or so? Never the less my husband ordered the tastings menu with the wine included. Six half glasses and very small portions of food. The rest of us had soup, salad and entree's. The service was so slow we finally got our main course at 10:30!! The cost of our dinner - just my husband and myself was $400.00 - I am sorry but this was way over priced for me. The next night we went into town to a lovely restaurant and had a bottle of wine with our dinners and it was only $150.00 - the food was way better too.

I loved that place!

It was all I was looking for from a 2 days in Tofino.
Great people, amazing place and rooms in a wonderful landscape.

I do advise it.
