“Very Nice NEW ROOMS”

Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside

5 of 5 stars

I stayed at this hotel when I attended a conference recently and was pleasantly surprised with the NEWLY RENOVATED ROOMS!
The bed was very very comfortable, you just sink in the luxury of the sheets!
The location was awesome close to everything the city has to offer, shopping, restaurants and the convention centre.
The service was prompt and genuine.
I highly recommend this hotel.

“Noisy, smelly. Bad service for the price paid”

Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside

2 of 5 stars
Chicago, Illinois

Renovation creates noise and strong paint smell on selected floors.
Room was left uncleaned twice until one of the staff was directly asked.
Noise from the hallway leaks into the room through the door.
Bathtub does not drain properly. When complained was promised quick resolution. Still waiting.
For the price: CAD199 it is truly bad.

“No Complaints, well, maybe one”

Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside

After a few days of skiing, our family of five booked two rooms for a day and a half of sightseeing in Vancouver. Although one King and two Doubles Adjoining rooms were requested, the hotel could only provide us an adjoining room with Doubles in each. Not quite sure that this should happen in a nice hotel, but we accepted this fact and otherwise enjoyed the stay. Did not have any issues with Self-Parking (when I asked the Valet about the security issues, he advised me to park on Level B). Beds were comfortable, staff was very nice, indoor pool was great, and we had a great dinner in the lobby restaurant, which was also reasonably priced. We ate both mornings in the restaurant near the lobby, and were satisfied with the buffet. We booked our room package to include breakfast and parking, and this saved us some money. No real complaints other than the bedding situation described above.
The front desk provided a nice walking map to get us on Robson Street, and also provided the directions to the Science Museum and Aquarium. Overall, we were happy with the Renaissance decision.

“Excellent time away”

Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside

We stayed at the Renaissance, Vancouver for 5 nights and we had a superb time. Yes, the hotel is in the midst of some major refurbishment but we were on the 8th floor and weren't at all affected by the work going on above us.

We didn't have any complaints - our room was spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and the food was delicious and very well presented.

The service we received was excellent and all the staff we met from the doormen to the concierge organising some of our day trips, couldn't have been more helpful.

It was our first time in the city and because of our experience here we will definitely be returning and hopefully staying in the same room as it had an excellent view of the harbour and the mountains...

“There is a lot better nearby”

Saw a rate of $99 with AAA card, and decided it looked pretty decent for the price, so booked it for one night...a Saturday. It is not close to the water as it appeared to be in the photos. Just a view of the water if you got high enough to clear all the other buildings surrounding it...we didn't.
Check-in was fine, even got our room much earlier than requested. Parking is $20 a day, but you can only park there if you have a rather low clearance vehicle heightwise.
Room was better than I expected, as I was very concerned walking down the hall and seeing just how old this place really is. Two balconys with doors, but you have to be very thin to access them...rather useless balconys to say the least, thin or not. Room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very soft and cozy. Water pressure was pitiful in the bathroom.
The pool was warm and looked clean. The hot tub was simply filthy. Scum buildup all around it. The excercise room was very well equipped...quite impressive. We never heard any building noise as mentioned in other reviews...maybe because the noise from the streets over powered it. This is not a quiet place as it absorbs every sound around it.
Had no issues, they didn't even ask to see my AAA card. For $20 more, I could have stayed at numerous places I saw later to be much nicer and newer looking. Maybe next time.
