This is a perfectly nice hotel but I think others should be aware of a few drawbacks which may or may not make a difference to their hotel selection. After staying at the Sheraton and Westin Hotels (both members of the Starwood Group) in Seattle and being very impressed we really thought the same high standard would await us as we moved up to Vancouver. In general terms of room and cleanliness etc it did. However, this large hotel although close to shopping/eating districts only has one small restaurant, and in our opinion it provides a poor selection of food for those travel weary customers who don't want to have to go out to find somewhere for a simple snack before bed. Granted you could just order from room service but the cost is about double what you'd usually pay. They do have a cafe for breakfast which is offered at a reasonable price (for a hotel) but beware of the orange juice they offer to pour as it's a stonking $5 per glass!.
The other disappointment was that although internet access is available, it's at an additional cost of $10 per day even in the lobby area. Even the Westin in Seattle provide free WiFi access in their lounge area.
The other main issue we have found here is simply the fact that the hotel is situated across the road from a hospital so every night around 2/3 or 4am we would be awaken by very loud sirens. We expect this is only made worse due to each room having a window which can be opened, so sound proofing is probably reduced even in winter. The bathroom is nice and clean but not as well arranged as the other hotels - not so much room around the sink and no where to hang the hand towel or even your swim suits to dry without having them drip all over the floor. That said the hotel is very comfortable, it has a great pool if you like a good swim, and the trolley tour has a stop right outside, making it easy to access various areas of the city over a 2 day period. It's just not the best Sheraton we've stayed in.
