I stayed here for two nights after a trip to Whistler. I chose this hotel because of the reviews and the great package offered via the Marriott website. I read several of the negative reviews and after my stay I could only agree with the quote "you can't please all of the people all the time". My experience was like the majority of the reviewers. The hotel was exceptionally clean, the staff was very courteous and helpful and the location is excellent.
I booked the package for "Cars eat free" for $179, which included a $25 gas card for each night of stay, and complimentary parking (self or valet). Like most large cities, downtown hotel parking is not free, and the price at the Pinnacles is on par with other hotels.
Based on the recommendation of a previous reviewer, I chose valet parking so I didn't have to hike to and from the garage. The valet service was quick. The two times I called for the car, it was at the front door waiting for me after I came down from my room.
This is not a luxurious hotel and the price reflects that, so people should not have the same expectations as if staying at the Fairmont or Pan Pacific and paying twice the rate. The location of the hotel is most convenient. The waterfront and Canada Place is two blocks north. Pacific Center shopping mall is three blocks to the east. If you are looking for stores and restaurants just walk two blocks south to West Georgia Street.
Their refrigerator did not have any mini bar items, but they did provide us with two bottles of water. Considering the price that hotels charge for the convenience of mini bar snacks and drinks, I'm thankful they provided a refrigerator for me to store my own drinks.
We stayed in an upper floor unit and did not hear any street noise
and the neighbors were very quite. I enjoyed my stay and would be back if I'm in Vancouver, especially if they have those great packages.
