“a good choice”

Rosedale on Robson

Feb 23, 2008

We had a great 5 days here in a two bedroom apartment. We are a family of 5 so we neede to utilise the sofa bed. The apartment was very clean and comfortable - extremely well located. Complimentary Coffee & Pastries/muffins available on 2nd floor meant we did not have to organise breakfast. Although it was a little cramped it certainly beat having 2 hotel rooms - cheaper too. We would definitely stay here again

“This is the worse hotel I've ever had the displeasure to stay in”

I am constantly traveling due to my profession. So, I was extremely excited to find out I was going to Vancouver, BC. The clients I work for set up the reservations at the Rosedale and explained how close to downtown it was. To be honest, that is the only good thing about the hotel. The wireless service is horrible, it took 4 days before I was able to get service and though I spoke to the front desk, there was not anyone who was qualified to help me stating that "the wireless is handled independently from the hotel and they can provide me service for $10 a day - when I have already purchased wireless service for $40 for the month I will be there. The front desk did not offer assistance with questions regarding housekeeping or laundry services. The vending machine did not have soap powder and when I called to the front desk, they stated that I can go across the street to the convenience store to pick up some laundry detergent. The first room I received did not have heat and they sent the same person who checked the internet to check the heat. I requested a cab and the valet stated he called, but a cab never came and when I went to the front desk to request another call, the attitude was like it was an inconvenience to them to call for me. I really, really am so disappointed in my stay here. The rooms are small and conformed. The bed was hard and uncomfortable...If you want to enjoy your stay in Vancouver, please make another choice of hotels. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone- (not even my worse enemy)

“Great Location”

Rosedale on Robson

We stayed at this Hotel with our 2 grown daughters and thought it was a good clean suite. There are 2 seperate bedrooms one with a queen bed, the other with 2 singles. There is a small lounge area with t.v couch etc and a kitchenette. The bathroom is of a standard size but clean.
The location of this hotel is great, within walking distance to most tourist sites.
The restaurant downstairs offers good breakfast and other meals at a reasonable price

“little bit out of it”

Rosedale on Robson

We stayed her for 3 nights at the end of our honeymoon in August. I found the hotel a little bit out of it by that I mean it was a good 15-20 mins walk to everything which was hard when it was hot and we had a 7 year old with us. I also found Vancouver at night very frightening with pan handlers everywhere. Fantastic in the day. Stanley park and the Aquarium are definatly worth a visit. We ate in gas town the first night at the old spagetti factory after having a great meal at the one in Banff. Well it was not at all like that, very disapointing. The second night we got a take away from China Town and it was fantastic. We ate it in our room which had a kitchenette and lounge area. The 3rd night we ate in Earls after eating in the one in Whistler. This was good.

The hotel its self is a little dated and the lifts are a nightmare 1 was not working and they seem to stop on every floor. There is a lot of construction in Vancouver and all we could see from our hotel room was cranes. Quite a dark room in the lounge but the bedroom was ok. I would look for a differnent hotel if going back to vancouver.

I can highly recommend grouse mountain and the capalano suspension bridge. Great day out.

“Good Again”

We spent one night at the Rosedale while in Vancouver to take in a Canucks game. We had stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago so we knew what to expect and were not dissappointed. Our room was on the 18th floor with a great view of the downtown are. Our room was lots big enough, clean and quiet. The small kitchen area was good for the late night pizza after the game, and the front sitting area buffers any hall noise from the bedroom area. It is an easy 5-10 min walk from GM Place and handy to Robson Street shopping if you are so inclined. Taxi to the bus depot ran us about $7.00 for our departure to Vanc. Island. Our only complaint, albeit minor was the slow elevators in the hotel. For the price, we will definately be back here.
