“Nice room and hotel”

Nice clean room and good beds (not great) with great bathroom, TV, etc.

Good staff, very good complimentary breakfast.
Expensive parking in secure lot downstairs, restaurant on-site was ok, but service was non-existent, suggest going elsewhere, numerous choices nearby.

Great location if going to stadium next door, otherwise a good distance from Stanley park, the aquarium and many other places.

Need to get used to the many one-way streets in Vancouver, otherwise you could go around in circles for awhile.

“Great Hotel”

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel and would like to recommend it to other travellers. The staff were friendly, extremely helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. We felt we had very good value for money.

The hotel is just few blocks away from the centre of Downtown. It looked to be fairly new, so all the decor was in good condition. There was a restaurant attached as well as a coffee bar and gift shop. Breakfast was provided with a varied spread daily. Coffee was available at all times.

Our room was light and spacious with a very comfortable bed and pillows.

Great views of the city were had from the top floor fitness centre.

“Great Stay!”

Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Vancouver

We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites for two nights right after Christmas. Went to Vancouver to shop the Boxing Day / Week specials and enjoy the city. The hotel is located at the end of Robson Street, right across from the BC Place Stadium. As other reviewers have noted, there are a considerable number of homeless folks in the area, but the same can be said for just about ALL of downtown Vancouver. All od this said, I we were able to easily walk up Robson for shopping, just a block away to the beautiful Vancouver Library, and maybe 10 minutes to the heart of downtown and Canada Place, etc.. Check-in was quick and efficient, and like other reviewers have noted, extremely courtious. We were given a corner room on a higher floor (as requested) with two double beds. The room was clean and clean-smelling when we arived, and the bathroom was well stocked with towels, shampoo, etc.. Nice to have the small fridge and microwave in the room. The wireless high speed internet worked as promised, and was fast. Our room looked down onto Robson Street and to the West. Like I said earlier, the Vancouver Public Library is just up the street, as well as a Starbucks, several good restaurants and a nice grocery store - everything you might want is nearby. We liked the fact that the underground parking was secured (the gate was opened with your room key). The breakfast served each morning has a good selection of hot and cold items - but - the area in which it'[s served is without question too small for the size of the hotel. Each morning that we were there, the room was jammed full, with people standing around waiting for others to finish eating so that they too could sit down. Best to get there early and avoid the rush. The only other thing that was a problem during stay was that the second elevator in the building was "out of order". This left just one elevator working to service all guests, which at times caused a considerable wait. Can the hotel have this fixed? Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely book there again.

“A fine choice”

Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Vancouver

We wanted to stay in a Hilton property -- building up our Hilton Honors points -- at the very best price. Although the actual price exceeded $190 US per night, we were more than satisified. High value for the amount spent.

Generally we do not stay at a Hampton Inn, so our surprise was all the more pleasant. It is a rather new property and maintained admirably. Very attentive desk staff and a first-rate buffet breakfast in a very lovely setting.

Sole misgiving is that this property isn't exactly in the center of downtown. We took alot of public transit, doing just fine because we are accustomed to that mode.

“Great accommodation, first class staff, didn't like location”

Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Vancouver

4 of 5 stars
Dublin, Ireland

From the date of booking to our departure we were treated extremely courteously and efficiently by the staff who were first class. They couldn't have been more helpful, assisting with any queries regarding local facilities, restaurants, transport etc and I can honestly say that I have never met more professional staff in ANY hotel worldwide.

We (family of four) stayed for four nights after an Alaskan cruise and chose this hotel because of its No 1 position on Tripadvisor.

The accommodation was spotless, absolutely first class. They guarantee that all bedding, including duvets, are cleaned after every use. The bathroom was beautifully clean and we were provided with lovely toiletries.

The breakfast was nothing to write home about, however, very basic and some items in short supply. The eating area was quite small for the number of people staying, which meant queuing as most people eat around the same time. However it's included in the price so you can take it or leave it.

Don't miss the views from the roof. Its a lovely place to relax with a book if you have time to spare. There's a coin-operated washer and drier for guest use which is very convenient.

We couldn't find a stairs on our floor and the elevator seemed to be the only way up or down, except for the fire exit.

We didn't feel safe at night walking back to the hotel, due to the number of homeless people which seemed to be proportionately higher in that area than anywhere else. We were never hassled or approached by them but didn't feel comfortable walking at night, so we tended to take a taxi for even a short distance at night. Quite a lot of construction going on in the area. There are a couple of streets nearby which we were advised not to use - Hastings Street is one I remember.

All in all a great hotel, with super accommodation and staff.
