Cedar Springs Bed and Breakfast Lodge

Can't think of enough superlatives to describe our stay. The hosts were charming, funny, attentive to our every need, and they have the cutest pair of kids I've seen in years. The seven year old was so bright and congenial that I even took him skiing with us, and he showed us the mountain.
We don't need the hustle and bustle of the village, we wanted some peace and quiet. We took a walk in a huge park across the street. Jackie made us a wonderful snack for our skiing lunch, and we loved her charming Australian accent. She even introduced us to a strange Aussie concoction called Vegemite!
All the benefits of Whistler without the negatives of noise, crowding, and high cost, and a great breakfast to boot. I highly recommend this charming place.

I'll get straight to the negative - This is the hosts' home and so with it comes their two rather rambunctious young boys. As my husband and I are childfree by choice and this was to be part of a birthday celebration we were both a little disappointed to have children (including the neighborhood kids) "underfoot" and within earshot either inside or outside. We had a balcony off our room but were unable to use it due to the noise of the children playing around the house and in the street. If you're someone that doesn't mind children then this of course might not be a bother to you. But if you subscribe to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard" or are looking for a romantic getaway then this might not be the place for you.

Onto the positives - The home is a very cute log cabin style that sits very close to the Meadow Park center and the "Valley Trail" that rings the village of Whistler. It's just a mile north up the highway from Upper Village and so would require the use of a bike, your feet or the bus if you want to get into one of the four villages.

The house itself is quite large and has a jacuzzi tub on the outdoor deck as well as a dry sauna inside the house - both of which are available to use. They also have several mountain bikes that you can rent if you want to do a little cycling on the Valley Trail. Our room was a deluxe with a private bath and a small sitting area with a fireplace on the second floor. It was one of the nicest rooms we've stayed in while traveling considering the very reasonable price. Nicely furnished and exceptionally clean.

Jacquie and Joern (?) are exceptionally friendly and are wonderful hosts who are quite willing to share with you all that they find so great about the Whistler area. The breakfasts are quite good, with homemade pastries and breads, juices and teas, yogurt, cereals, fresh fruit and either a sweet (belgian waffles with whipped cream and strawberries) or a savory (mushroom souffle) main. Now if they would have just kept the kids and their toys out of the dining room the breakfast would have been perfect!

All in all, it was a beautiful place to stay with good food and excellent hosts but unfortunately I can't give it a great recommendation.

My husband and I loved our visit to Cedar Springs in January 2004. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and a great start to the day, and the jacuzzi was perfect for after skiing. The inn was beautiful and the innkeepers were incredibly accomodating and friendly. It is off the mountain, though, but Jorn will gladly drive you and your skis to the village.

I highly recommend this place. We had a wonderful time.

We love this place! From the mints on our beds to the afternoon tea, with homemade biscuits and cakes. See, it's all about the attention to detail, the personal touches-that makes all the difference. It's nice to stay in a place that's unique. Cedar Springs is like staying at your best friends house, but it's cleaner, more luxurious and friendlier. Thanks!Helen
