“Great place to stay”

Quality Inn & Suites Bayer's Lake

This place was great. Very clean, modern, new, and the staff were professional and courteous. They have everything you would need for a comfortable stay. We only stayed for one night just to tour Halifax for a couple days and do some shopping (from PEI... no good shopping there!). Definitely above average hotel. You don't have to worry about lipstick on glasses or mysterious stains in the bed or carpet! haha! No complaints here!

    • Disliked — Nothing.

“One Of The Best”

*guests - (mom, dad, toddler & medium sized dog)

We stayed in a suite on the second floor. The decor was lovely and up-to-date. My first impression upon walking in was 'wow'.

Our suite was close to the elevator, which was audible from the bedroom enough to irk my husband a bit. We were also on the side with a busy road which wasn't that bad, although it wasn't perfect.

The bed was very comfortable, the sheets were very soft and good quality. The pillows were great too. Those were the kind of pillows you'd want in your own home, and the sheets as well.

There was a small coffee table, although when you are sequestered in your hotel room you really need a small table to eat on.

The bathroom jacuzzi was great, with a separate shower. Although the toilet was a little moody, and decided to overflow. The staff didn't really clean up well, and so it was left to us to finish the job.

Even though the room was very classy and nice, we were able to 'babyproof' in a flash. They kindly provided a playpen for our son to sleep in, with little blankets as well.

This hotel didn't put any restrictions on us for having a dog with us. We were allowed a non-smoking suite, and we were never given any restrictions either.

I had read in another review about the parking lot, and security concerns. It can get dark in sections for sure. We tried to park as close to the main entrance as possible in that case.

The continental breakfast was very good. They offered eggs, muffins, juices, scones, and cereals. My husband (who grabs us our breakfasts and brings it up to our room for us) said it was one of the better selections he saw in free breakfasts.

For take-out, we tried Zen (Chinese), and Applebee's. I would recommend Zen, but Applebee's was expensive for what you got.

One caveat I had, was that since it was listed as being at 'Bayer's Lake' that it would be on the same road as all the shopping. It was not. You have to take the highway up a ways and then you will see it. Its a short trip, but not what I consider 'Bayer's Lake'.

    • Liked — The bed was great, the hotel was extremely welcoming of our dog, the dual rooms were great for a family who had to live in the room for a few days.
    • Disliked — The location of our room was the biggest downfall. We had already settled in and spread out when we realized the elevator was going to be noisy and that we were on the side of a busy road. Had we been a little less harried from our days activies maybe we would have told the staff to move us.

“very clean hotel”

Stayed at this hotel for one night on June 14. My son loved the pool and waterslide, it was very clean. The room was very clean and was easy to tell it was a fairly new hotel. A nice surprise was the free breakfast which I was not aware of. Our room was the first room upstairs next to the elevator. Very quiet hotel no noise at all.

“Great hotel”

This hotel was one of our favorites on our Nova Scotia vacation. My husband and I were impressed with how clean it was, and how quiet it was. The rooms are huge there - we loved the couch in our sitting area. We also liked having a mini refrigerator, microwave and wet bar in the room. Staff were very helpful and gave great directions. Breakfast was included in the price and they had ample choices. This property is only 25 minutes from the airport, which made it very convenient the morning we flew home.

“fantastic hotel”

Quality Inn & Suites Bayer's Lake

Jun 24, 2007

my family stayed here at the end of may for 3 days then came back middle of june it was so good. the moment you walk in the staff are friendly the room was huge and it was clean, and the beds are so comfy, which you want after a long flight with 3 young kids from the uk!!! They do have a laundry room and a nice pool not huge but enough with a waterslide. Breakfast in the morning is buffet style with ceral, toast, bagels, waffels, scones(?) fruit and yogurts 4 lots of juice tea and coffee. The hotel is about a 10/15 min drive from downtown but 5 mins from shopping malls. 2 min walk from the hotel is a shop which stocks things you might forget plus some basic food, but there is a grat pizza take away that is only $5 a pizza plus Tim hortons coffee shops which are EVERYWHERE but so good. I couldnt recommend this place enough it really was good.
