“Excellent location and comfortable stay”

I booked a room here for a weekend getaway to Halifax. It was my first visit there, and all I knew was that I wanted to be at a property that was close to the historic harbor and Citadel. As it turned out, I could not have done much better with this selection.

The property appeared to be relatively new. It was situated in a development next door to the historic Brewery Market. The facility was immaculate throughout. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Even though I did not have a view of the harbor, it ultimately did not matter. Available parking is valet only, but their system makes the process very quick and painless. Their morning breakfast service is not spectacular, but it is quite delicious, the portions more than ample, and it is prepared quickly. There are a couple of solid fine dining establishments on site as well for dinner options.

The customer service and general attitude of the staff throughout - from the valet to front desk staff to servers to housekeepers - was superb. Everyone was pleasant, made sure to at least say "hello", and seemed more than willing to try to make certain that customer needs were resolved quickly. From my observations, they were very consistent with this outstanding service with everybody. Even when I had a 5am checkout on Sunday morning to catch an early flight out at the airport, the valet was quick, and the front desk staff was very pleasant and talkative.

The property is ideally situated in relation to many of the attractions in downtown Halifax. It is about two or three short blocks to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, a 10-15 minute walk to Pier 21, a 5-minute walk to the Grand Parade area, and about a 10-minute walk up the hill to the Citadel. This makes it easy for the traveler to see a lot in a short amount of time.

Overall, I would highly recommend this facility to anyone traveling to the Halifax area. It seemed ideal for solo travelers or families of all ages.

We spent one night here before boarding a cruise ship, and I don't know why travelers would stay anywhere else. The hotel was attractive, located partly in a renovated downtown building, within easy walking distance to attractions and the harbor, and had a helpful staff. The room was large and well appointed. Best of all, the rate was less than $200 a night.

“Great Hotel in Halifax”

New Hotel built a year or so ago - staff were very friendly, 10 minute walk along the harbour front to downtown -- Hotel rooms were very clean -- a great alternative to the traditional hotels located right downtown -- and I still had a great harbour view...and the price was very reasonable...

“A waterfront gem!”

Courtyard Halifax Downtown

I stayed at this wonderful hotel for two nights in mid-April. I was in Halifax for business. The conference I was attending was at the Marriott Harbourfront, but because they were full, I ended up staying in the Marriott Courtyard, which turned out to be a very good thing!

I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. The staff, including front desk, housekeeping and the bellman, were very accomodating. On the morning of my checkout, the bellman kept my luggage behind the desk, and he even called the restaurant that I planned to go to for lunch to ensure they were open. When I was ready to hit the airport, he called a limo service instead of a cab company, knowing that a limo ride would cost no more than a cab ride. Now *that* is service!

The room was very, very clean and the beds were comfortable. They even accomodated my request to have feather pillows. They have a handy pull-out desk in the room, which was perfect for the paperwork I had to do. My room came with a partial ocean view.

The location is super. You are only one block from the waterfront, and a comfortable walk from lots of restaurants and pubs. The hotel is literally next to the Alexander Keith's distillery, which is handy for souvenir shopping.

The only "bad" experience I had at the hotel was using their complimentary toothpaste when I realized I'd forgotten to pack mine. Their no-name toothpaste was so disgusting that let's just say I had a bad reaction to it!! So bring your own toothpaste and you should be just fine! :)
