6 of us just stayed at this Residence Inn in a 2 bedroom suite for 2 nights on the 3rd floor. I cannot say enough about this hotel! The room was immaculate, spacious, with each bedroom having a private bathroom. Perfect for 2 families. The beds were amazing. I requested a cot when I made our reservation, and was told that they would put it in their notes, but could not guarantee. When we checked in and asked about it, they told us it was already in our room and sure enough...it was! I didnt have to fight for it, nor were we even charged an extra fee for it! The cot was like a standard twin bed.....super comfortable. From the time of reservation, to the check-in, to check-out, we were treated with nothing but smiles and politeness from every employee we encountered. We requested extra blankets and pillows, which we had within 10 minutes. We told the front desk that our refrigerator was not working properly, and it was fixed by the time we returned to our room.
There is a fully stocked kitchen, with a full-sized refrigerator, oven and dishwasher (it would be helpful if they also stocked alum foil, saran wrap though).
We ate breakfast (included) at the hotel both mornings. It was very busy with what looked like a couple of soccer teams staying there. The staff kept up with supplies as best they could, without ever being rude or nasty to the guests (believe me, we've gone thru that before). The food was very good and there was alot of variety. Not just a continental breakfast!
The only things I would say they could change are these: the mattress in the pull-out couch was terrible. The cot actually was more comfortable. In order to keep in line with the rest of the wonderful things about this hotel....they should upgrade the couch; I would also suggest they find a new supplier for their danish at the breakfast....they left much to be desired and after one bite I decided it was not worth the calories and very disappointing; could have used more toiletries (ie. conditioner to go with the shampoo) in the room.
Sorry to have been so long-winded, but I know that as a very picky traveler, I am always relying on this website for feedback on a nice place to stay, and I can say that without a doubt I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again! Management should be very proud of their staff/hotel. Kudos!
p.s. We traveled to the Metro Toronto zoo on Saturday which took approx 30 minutes via the 401 which is literally around the corner from the hotel. We also went into the city via the subway, which we caught at the Kipling station approx 10 minutes from the hotel, which saved us on fighting the city traffic/parking on a Friday night. It was not cheap however, costing approx $22 round trip for 7 of us.
p.s.s. Montana's on Hurontario St (approx 10 minutes from hotel) was great. Wonderful service, good food.
