“Nice birds !!”

Hampton Inn At The Falls

Before I start on my review of this hotel, I must say that I really liked those birds in the hotel lobby! There are 2 green parrots and 1 red exotic bird, all in different cages. I took a picture of one of the green parrots, he kept sticking his head out of the cage bars, so I could get a good pic of him/her. Friendly bird! (I did turn off the camera flash, so he wouldn't be startled). I am bird lover.

So, I really liked this hotel and I honestly have nothing negative to say about it. The room was very clean and very spacious, 2 double beds and sofa, plus all the extras like shampoos, free in-room coffee, etc. The breakfast served in the atrium lobby was quite nice, with lots to choose from. Coffee was great too. The breakfast area is right beside the swimming pool and sauna. Just one small downside: the swimming pool was small, so if you are expecting a big(bigger) pool, that would be a disappointment. For us, it didn't matter as we were outside most of the time, soaking up as much of N Falls' sights and attractions as we could in the short time we were there.

The staff at the hotel was quite friendly, on check in and out both. As a guest, we felt welcomed by them. After we checked out, they stored our luggage for free, until we returned for it later that afternoon. No problems.

Hotel is in a nice location too, just across the street from Perkin's Restaurant. That was handy and also N Falls' sights are only a few blocks away. Comfortable walking distance.

So for the traveller who is looking for a clean, inexpensive and respectable room, this hotel should fit the bill quite easily. We had a nice stay.

Also, one last note: the coffee machine brews all day long at this hotel, so if you feel like a cup of coffee, in the afternoon or evening, you can have a cup or 2 on the house. Various teas also available.

    • Liked — Relaxing atmosphere, cleanliness, reasonably priced, friendly staff, cool birds in the lobby !
    • Disliked — Both swimming pool and whirlpool were very small -- for us it didn't matter, but just to warn others that the pool is for a quick splash only.

“Awesome Room, Hotel, and Wine”

Hampton Inn At The Falls

I just wanted to say that my wife and I had a great time at the Hampton Inn. We stayed from June 1 to June 5, 2008 and wish we could have stayed longer. My wife and I enjoyed the romance package with a $50 dinner credit and the lovely bottle of local white wine with two glasses filled with Hershey's chocolate kisses. Each night when we came to our room we were pleased to see the wine, cork-screw, glasses, and chocolates. We liked the of a bottle of "Ancient Coast Vidal" very much because the wine was light and smooth. We also liked the fact that a local white wine from the Niagara region was supplied, rather than a mass-market variety. This special touch with the wine was much appreciated. We also appreciated that our request via our internet reservation for white wine only was followed.

We were given expert advice on the restaurants (Brock, Sheraton, and Perkins) that proved to be exactly as we had been advised. By the way, we stayed for 4 nights so ate at each of the three, then returned to the Brock as we felt it had the best food, service, atmosphere, and was most reasonable in price-value.

Our room was always very clean and nice, and the maid service was top-notch. The glass elevator was fun! We enjoyed the views of the pool, hot tub,and breakfast area while riding the glass elevator. Everything in view from the elevator was clean, neat, and fun.

My wife and I enjoyed the variety of items for breakfast, especially the meat, but my wife found the eggs to be somewhat unpleasant. The coffee selection was good. Both of us enjoyed the chance to try the 'robust' coffee blend on various days.

Whenever we needed to go to the front desk, we were treated very well. The friendly, yet professional, staff at the front desk were very helpful and attended to our needs quickly. On two occasions our room key was either lost or demagnetized, yet the staff was courteous on both occasions

No luck to get a cheap room on priceline on a Friday night stay in Niagara Falls. Since I can get a govt rate with the Hilton chain, I opted for this Hampton Inn. Totally average. And only 13 channels on cable (the Buffalo Hilton Garden Inn had 70) and breakfast was pretty continental. Better off to stay at the Courtyard at a higher rate.

“Nice Hotel”

We stayed at the Hamptom Inn. Great deal for the money. Rooms were simple but clean. In the process of a renovation. A block from Clifton Hill which is were all the attractions are. Everything is within walking distance. The only proble we had was the exotic birds caged in the atrium got us out of bed at 6:30 AM. Get rid of the birds. Breakfast was nice and good. Great deal for the price.

“Not recommended”

I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless you are on a strict budget. This is definately a 2 star hotel. There are no restaurants in the hotel, no fridge in the room.
The only thing I actually liked about the hotel was they had balconies overlooking the indoor pool which was fun for the kids.
We encountered many problems at the hotel.
We found the hotel dirty, there was mold inside the faucet in the bathroom. There was blood on the comforter...yes BLOOD.
It was fresh blood too. It was not like they even tried to wash it.
It was bright red blood. There was a good amount of it too.
After I complained about the comforter. They brought me another one which also had a stain on it.
The entire hotel is mostly out dated and needs some major updating.
The maintence worker knocked on our door around midnight and asked if our toilet was clogged up. We said "no" then we said he must have the wrong room.

On the good side. It is a good family place where they do serve a continental breakfast in the AM.
We are used to staying at 5 star hotels. We thought we would give this a try. However, we will not be returning.
It is also right across from the Indoor waterpark which is nice.
However, I would recommend stayng at the SKYLINE INN across the street if you are looking around the same price range.
There is no restaurant or place to buy any food. There are pop machines, but no vending machines.
There is a convenient store next door.

Thanks
Kim
