“A spring day at the Britaly”

Britaly Bed and Breakfast

Recently I had the distinct pleasure of staying at the Britaly in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Spring was in the air and the flowers were showing themselves from beneath the winter's cruel frost. My guests and I sat in the garden for a bit before retiring to the sitting room. Our suites were tastefully appointed and the house was lovely. The food was simply the best and the same can be said of the hospitality shown to us by our hosts. For the best that this bustling little community has to offer we wholeheartedly recommend the Britaly.

Having read the many great reviews, my fiance and I picked Britaly for our weekend getaway. We were not disappointed with our choice. The house is absolutely beautiful and is decorated with an abundance of antiques and art work. The breakfasts are fantastic and will easily keep you going until dinner. The bed in our room (Italian) was extremely comfortable. A great deal of thought has gone into the furnishing of this B&B and is not the usual run of the mill decor.

However, what really sets this place apart is the hospitality shown by both Graham & Aldo and their wonderful dog,Rufus. We were made to feel so welcome. We are already planning our next trip.

“Not to be missed!”

Britaly Bed and Breakfast

I've picked this B&B from Trip Advisor, as it had great ratings and very favorable comments. They are all true. You have to experience the bed with gorgeous linens, the room and the decoration, as well as the absolute fabulous breakfast. Very nice touches such as the chocolate before going to sleep, the coffee in the morning, the water bottles, different menus and different china for the two days we stayed there.

The hosts are extremely nice and helpful and if you might be put off by the idea of a dog, well, don't, as Rufus doesn't come close to the guests if they don't want it.

The best B&B from all I have stayed in.

“Excellent quality and value”

We stayed for a few days' indulgence of the Shaw festival. We loved the hospitality and breakfast quality, and the other guests were very interesting, too. We had the room without en suite, but the bath was across the quiet hall and almost as private. There is a charming backyard garden, with seats for contemplation or conversation. Graham celebrated a birthday while we were there. He is a former sheriff of Toronto, an administrative positiion. There were different pastries for each breakfast, so the fare was not monotonous. We even hit the Cherry Festival at the local Anglican parish, which was a plus. A fife band from the local historic fort performed, a combination of rotund oldsters and lanky kids. The ice cream and cherry pie were wonderful.

“Charm and Elegance”

If you are tired of sterile cookie cutter hotel rooms, the Britaly sets the bar for B&B’s. The bedrooms are enhanced with rich vibrant colours and texture and our comfortable bed was covered in luxurious linens. We came in from the cold to the pleasure of a glass of wine and a cozy couch in front of the warm fireplace in our bedroom. Our hosts Graham and Aldo, were no minimalists when it came to creature comforts. Small details like a silver tray on the bedroom mantle holding wine glasses and a corkscrew, a guest fridge, and early morning coffee left outside of your room were a few of the thoughtful touches they provided. A hearty gourmet breakfast was presented complete with linens, china and silverware in a handsome dining room. The house was immaculate and gracefully decorated. We will absolutely be returning guests.
