Stayed at the Carmichael for a couple of nights in August and strongly recommend it. As soon as you walk through the door you feel relaxed in what was once an old family home, and the owner was extremely helpful.
Guests are free to take bottled water out of the fridge and plentiful fruit all day. The breakfasts are help yourself to cereal, yoghurt, muffins and bagels/toast etc.
The only drawback would be the bathroom we had was on the small side and it is a bit of a longer walk to the downtown attractions compared to the Chateau Laurier and the Lord Elgin.
If you are looking for a great sleep, their beds are to die for!!
