The key to the Marriott in Ottawa is its location for tourism. I can't say for business as I was there sightseeing. The hotel itself is very much acceptable yet a bit below the standard of many other Marriott hotels. The main reason is the hotel is dated and has had too much foot traffic - the result of its excellent location I am sure.
I would say that the hotel is a reliable choice and we found it at a very reasonable price. The indoor pool is nice though it was way too cold to use during our winter visit. It did have a nice jacuzzi and work out room. The kids play area featured video games and a treehouse that was a real plus.
Off of the main lobby is a coffee shop and restuarant. The buffett breakfast was decent. Parking was a bit pricey but again that goes with having a good central location.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Overally I would recommend the hotel provided you can find it at a reasonable price. Again, I did not find this hotel to be up to the standards of some of the other Marriotts I have stayed at but for a well located reliable hotel its a fine choice.

ServiceI stayed for three nights in April 2008. Since I am a Marriott Gold Awards member, I stayed on the 25th floor. The room was spacious and sparkling clean, as is to be expected from this chain. The concierge lounge was very nice with stunning views of Parliament Hill and a basic breakfast is available from Monday to Friday. I had only two quibbles. The underground parking gets so packed in the day that I had to take 15 minutes to inch my way out on a week day. Cars were parked in any tiny space available. Also, the Kent Club, the hotel's fitness center, has an exercise room that is too small for the size of the hotel and is outfitted with equipment that must date from the 1970s. Otherwise, this is a solid choice for visitors to Ottawa.

ServiceWe got a great rate on our night's stay here in March through priceline, and when we checked in we given a room with two doubles. Being a couple and all, I asked if we would be able to have a room with a king bed. They gave us a free upgrade to a room with a balcony. The rack rate for our room was 320$....we paid 65$ on priceline! What a deal!!
The view was very nice from the room. Everything was spotless...the location of the hotel is also very convenient...just a few minutes walk away from all attractions.
By far the best part of the stay was the bed. The Marriott has the "revive" beds and it was amazing! Soft, yet firm....and soooo comfy!
Overall we had a great experience and would most definitely stay again!

ServiceI was delighted with this hotel in the heart of Ottawa. We arrived just before the huge snowstorm on March 9th and parked the car underground. The staff at reception were marvelous in helping us figure out public transportation to the Scotiabank Place as we were in Ottawa for High School Musical on Ice. We just LOVED the beds and bedding! The room was average but the beds sure made up for anything less than perfect. We also enjoyed the pool and hot-tub. I would not hesitate to stay there again!
