I stayed in the Alberta room - the cheapest one I could get. The inn was clean, upkept well, the owner was really friendly and helpful, the bed was comfy, the view of the park was great (especially with the snow everywhere), it was well decorated for christmas, and overall i thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The help-yourself breakfast was quite good, with a good variety of things to pick from. Since I was there over a weekend and holiday period the main owner was only there the first day and the day I left and her assistant wasn't too good with the upkeep and such but I'm sure there are far far worse places. I highly recommend staying here for good value, comfort, and location.

This place was highly rated - but didn't add up for us. The room was OK - but there was a shared bath and a window that looked into a sunporch from another room. A third floor deck was kind of nice. Location was great for downtown activities and the many restaurants on Elgin St. The woman who checked us in made clear that she would not be around for breakfast, though there was plenty of food to serve ourselves.

We stopped in this Charming Perod guest House during September 2004.Execellent value for money, charming rooms and very helpfull hostess Laura Depper.It's location is ideal for restaurants etc and easy walking distance of all site seeing.
