My experience with the hotel itself was positive. The staff were friendly, the room (standard) was very pleasant (and had the largest pillows I've ever seen -- I was expecting the Chechire Cat to pop out and start smiling at me). To my knowledge, all rooms have a minibar, which is something that other hotels (e.g. Delta) can make note of.
The location of the hotel -- with respect to the airport -- is great. It's about a 10 minute shuttle (this shuttle is not easy to find on first visit though, so ask the information counter person on the arrivals level). The shuttle also leaves the hotel as early as 4:30am, which is great for people who are taking early international flights.
The location of the hotel -- with respect to anything worth experiencing around the hotel -- is quite bad. This obviously isn't the fault of the hotel; they can't control the infrastructure around, and I'm sure if they had their way, the immediate surroundings would be overflowing with restaurants and other things.
But with that being said: the space around this hotel is desolate. It's beyond simply being "not downtown Montreal." Many Toronto airport hotels are located in Mississauga (where the airport actually is), and there is some stuff around these hotels. But around the Sheraton Montreal Airport there is....nothing. There is one generic 'eat a 50lb steak, don't die, and win your meal' type of restaurant across the street, but aside from that, there is nothing.
I didn't know this, and again, while I'm not blaming the hotel at all, it is a factor that has since influenced my decision on where to stay in Montreal. So for those of you who care do to anything outside of the hotel and don't want to make a 'trip' out of it, I suggest you choose another hotel. But for those who just need a quiet, simple, clean and good quality place to chill between flights or something like that, then this is a good place to stay.
