“Hotel Chateau Bellevue is a Charmer”

Hotel Chateau Bellevue

4 of 5 stars
San Fran
Oct 9, 2007

My traveling companion and I both liked this hotel a lot. It is an attractive building, in a great location right near the old town, rooms have been remodeled, bed is comfortable, staff are helpful, and there is internet available in the lobby. Rooms are smallish, but perfectly adequate. Mine only had a window on the street, but because the city is so pretty, even that view was nice.

The hotel adjoins a park, with the river at the edge of the park. It's a pleasant sitting and people-watching location.

With AAA, you can get a small discount at the hotel.

One consideration: during the summer, there's not a whole lot to do in Quebec City. It's pretty but touristy to the extreme. It's worth a one-night stay.

Great Hotel, good location, the room faced the park and the St Lawrence River. Walking distance to many wonderful rest's. Front desk clerks were very nice and helpful. I would stay here again. Note: the hotel has an elavator and a bell man. George Lake Geoge, N.Y.

“Delightful stay with the Bellevue Hotel”

Hotel Chateau Bellevue

We had a very special stay at the Bellevue Hotel. Upon arrival we were told that we were actually staying in a building on the block behind the hotel - #10 rue des Grisons, Room #3.
Doubt at first turned to delight. #10 is an elegant old French home. #3 is really an apartment across the rear of the home. We had a complete kitchen in addition to a very large room with 15' +/- ceilings, large windows and a rear deck that overlooked the neighboring gardens. The high ceilings and ceiling fan made the lack of AC no problem. We felt like we were indeed living the life of the French - sitting out on our private deck and making meals whenever we opted to.
We still had the benefits of the coffee/juice/muffin service across the street at the Bellevue - and the wine bar. The staff was incredibly helpful. Our car was available whenever we desired. The stay was outstanding!

“Room standards vary (a lot)”

We booked through CAA and were provided with a room in the lower level. The air quality was dreadful, there was a hole in the wall and several dead insects in the light fixture. We asked for another room, and received another room on the same floor as the main desk. It was cleaner but very small. The bathroom was functional, but very outdated. We understand that the rooms on the top floor are much nicer. In a very good location, however.

“Just like Europe”

Hotel Chateau Bellevue

4 of 5 stars
Madison, Wisconsin

A small, European-style hotel loaded with charm. Clean, quiet, comfortable, and very conveniently located a block from the Hotel Frontenac and the hub of the old city. The room was very small, which one should expect in an old city. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the parking valet ($15 per night). We enjoyed our stay very much.
