I guess what you pay is what you get. I was just looking for a non-expensive place to sleep at and it was not as great as I thought it would be. The room lighting was not very good (lamp didn't work), the bathroom was very small, and the room did not seem all that clean. Late at night (about 3am), there was a couple next door who were arguing and fighting. It does not seem safe to stay here with people like that so I would not recommend this place for people with family. Just spend the extra bucks to stay at a better place.

This is the good motel & it is not expensive. The location of the motel is near by heavenly gondola. The room is clean & need & everything is included in the room e.g. wifi, microwave,refrigerator, etc. Great view.....

I stayed with two friends at the Vagabond Inn in South Lake Tahoe over the Easter week'd since we went skiing in Heavenly. The reception staff was quite unfriendly and lazy. Even we did pay for three people, it took several requests from us to get a third towel. The carpet in the room had several large stains and the shower was quite moldy. The handle of the bathroom window was broken, which made it quite difficult to open or close the window. The breakfast, which consisted of one type of very small muffins and instant coffee was taken away by the reception staff a full hour before their official breakfast ending time.

Overall I would not stay at this motel again.

This is the cleanest hotel I have stayed in around South Lake Tahoe. The rooms are clean. The sheets are clean and not threadbare, the staff is courteous. I booked the room and said there is only 1 person staying. When 4 of us showed up, they just told us to keep the noise down and we there would be no issues.

The only problem is the area. You cannot walk to the casinos, you cannot walk to Heavenly base. If that's not what you are looking for, this is the place for you!

We will definetly be back next ski season.
