“Very Misleading”

Inn at Heavenly

Very, very misleading - beware. The photos do NOT show the true nature of this property. I booked for a weekend sking with me daughter based on the 'size' of the rooms and the fact that they have a fireplace.

This place is just a glorified motel 6 - the rooms are small the bathrooms tiny - and the walls are incredibly thin. And don't forget, the corner of Pioneer Trail and Ski Run is a busy intersection so there is LOTS of traffic noise.

I wouldn't recommend this place at all - really overpriced - trying to catch tourists out I guess. What a shame. Never again.

“Misleading?? Very”

Inn at Heavenly

When making the reservations, I asked for a description of the "inn" and she told me how beautiful it was, the rooms were nicely decorated, yadayada. Having nothing to go on (except the brochure they sent) I asked her if the rooms were nice, and she responded with a offended "Of course!"

We stayed here for our wedding trip (half here and the other half at the Harveys) and when we arrived, I was appalled. I understand a bed & breakfast is a place that is like a home, but rents out the rooms with a community dining room to eat homemade dinners, breakfasts, and to grab a glass of wine as well as read a book in the living room. Wow, was I surprised. It was nothing more than a Motel 6 with some rustic decorations, and icicle lighting on the outside to boot! The reason we chose this place for our wedding night was because few places offered a place to be married on the Lake and we were by ourselves. They had a cute little "wedding cake" and champagne when we arrived back to our room, so that was a nice little perk, but the cake was not edible (icing was stale and hard as well as the cake itself). Champagne was okay but cheap. The hot tub room was *lovely* - we both walked in and walked right back out. Now the room: We stayed in the Honeymoon-something-type room and it was a joke. It was very tiny, I was very skeptical of the bathroom, and I was careful to put a towel on the floor before I walked on the floor. I couldn't wait to get out of this place!! We tried to get into our room early at the Harveys, but were unable to. I will never stay here again - it has been a while since we were there, but I hope they have changed/remodeled since our stay. Never again!!!

It took me so long to write a review to this place because I was sure it was no longer around!!

We stayed at a cabin called the Hood Chalet, the property is part of the Inn at Heavenly, managed by them. First of all when called and was quoted a price, I was sent a confirmation email that contained a different price. I asked, "Is this extra cost the deposit?" I was assured that it was a deposit "a deposit of one night's stay plus tax." However, once I got here, I waltz in believing I had paid for the cabin in full 30 days prior and they ask me for my credit card for the $200 deposit!! I was confused at first, then furious when the woman behind the counter densely just continued the transaction as though I wasn't even speaking or expressing irritation! She finally blamed the misunderstanding on someone who was not there, and "might show up later." She assured me she herself was "just a lowly desk clerk" and could do nothing about it, have a fun stay. (!) Additionally the cabin boasted a pool table and when we got here the cues were all broken and the table itself has tears in the felt. They advertise continental breakfast and community hot tub and wine and cheese hour. What they don't mention is that this is all down the hill at the inn, not actually anywhere near your cabin! By the way the hot tub is a dinky little thing in a closed in room, and looks pretty sleazy from the outside.

This Inn has some really nice touches and some just ok things as well.
On the positive side the staff is very warm and welcoming. When you get in your room they have provided a bag of things like small packages of aspirin, throat lozanges, vitamin C powder that you add to water, razors, shower gel, etc.

They have bikes that you can borrow to ride around town.

There garden area is pretty.

The rooms are clean and comfortable-but quite small.

It is very close to downtown but on a fairly busy street.

The 'ok' stuff: It is advertised as a Bed and Breakfast. They advertise wine and cheese at 5pm. The wine is basically cheap magnums, the cheese and crackers is a plate of cheddar and jack, salami and ritz crackers on a paper plate-don't expect anything slightly gourmet.

The breakfast is self serve. There is a toaster, next to it are some bagels, toast, and a bag of frozen wafftles. There is margerine, jam, and cream cheese next to this. There is coffee and a soda machine that also has cranberry and orange juice. There is some homemade granola. There is a tray of pastries, the kind you get out of a package-small bear claws and muffins.

She shower is very small but the water pressure is good.
