Like most other guests, my wife & I stayed here prior to taking the ferry to Newfoundland. The best I can say is that the accomodations are just adequate. The hotel conveys a sense of shabbiness in that there are few amenities that you would normally expect., shampoo, etc. The lamp above the bed had no lightbulb and the free internet in the lobby didn't work due to a loose cable (?),

I had requested a 0530 wake-up call which never came. Luckily, our own alarm clock worked.

Checking out was a nightmare!. An elderly gentleman at the desk had difficulty reading the numbers on my VISA card even though he held it two inches from his face. He repeatedly entered the wrong digits into the credit card processor. We finally got checked out after 15 minutes. Fortunately, there was no line as we needed to check in with Marine Atlantic.

Recommend you find other accomodations.

This hotel, as noted by the other reviewers, is located right next to the ferry terminal to Newfoundland, which is essential if you have to leave very early in the morning for the ferry. The hotel is average - clean but nothing special. I think they know they don't really need to try very hard to get customers. Our AC wouldn't work properly, so they sent up someone to look at it, but he couldn't fix it - we had to convince him to bring us a fan. Don't get me wrong - the staff were all very nice, but not a lot of effort. They did have wireless internet access in the room, which was very appreciated. We had a room overlooking the parking lot, but we left at 4:45AM, so I don't know if the sounds of the earl morning departers would have awoken us

This hotel is the most convenient to the Newfoundland ferry. Be very sure to request a room that does not face the parking lot. Groups of motorcyclists frequently use this hotel, arise at 3:30 am and run motors in the parking lot for a couple of hours. If you cannot get a room away from parking lot would recommend alternate accomodations. Average motel restaurant. Great harbor view.

Be sure to make a reservation as this place is filled mostly by people leaving in the morning on the ferry to Newfoundland or returning from there late at night.
