“My Favorite Vacation”

Miraloma on the Cove

We stayed in a bachelor harbour view suite. What an amazing treat! The rooms were very clean, cozy and absolutely beautiful. Fabulous view of a little cove/inlet from the rooms on a very quiet secluded street. Huge, comfy king size bed, pull out sofa bed, fireplace, mini fridge, fully stocked kitchen cupboards, beautiful tiled bathroom with seperate jetted tub and large shower. There was even a heat lamp to keep the bathroom warm! The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The lobby felt like you were in someone's home. Cozy couches, large fireplace, board games - they even served delicious cookies and hot chocolate at bedtime! The front desk has a board game/video library that you can borrow from. The price we paid for this hotel was phenomenal. It is in Sidney so it is a bit of a drive if you are wanting to do the tourist stuff in Victoria, but there are beautiful beaches and walking trails nearby, it is a very short drive from the ferry. There are lots of really nice shops and restaurants to be found in Sidney also. Be sure to check out the Thai food place! Wow! The hotel also has a hot tub, is close to Butchart Gardens and will lend you bicycles to peddle the town. Absolutely fabulous. My husband and I both feel that this hotel was the jumping point for one of the best vacations of our lives!

“Fantastic hotel”

Miraloma on the Cove completely lived up to the reviews and more. It is a really well appointed hotel in a beautiful location, it exceeded my expectations. Views of the sea were wonderful and sitting on the balcony smelling the sea air was a great holiday moment. I would recommend this hotel without reservation, the only thing 'missing' is a restaurant and Sidney is a town seemingly full of good restaurants so this is easily addressed. The Blue Peter on the marina is a good pub and worthy of a visit.

I would definitely return here.

“Great value, quiet location by the sea”

Miraloma on the Cove

This hotel is excellent value in a very expensive hotel market. Seaside location is wonderful, 24 hour hot tub, continental breakfast, bicycles and a very friendly and accommodating staff. I can't say enough good things about this hotel - save some money by staying here and then drive into Victoria to see what you need to see. This hotel is close to Buchard Gardens as well.

“A hidden gem on Vancouver Island -- Loved this hotel”

Miraloma on the Cove

My wife and I stayed at Miraloma one night while vacationing on Vancouver Island. It is an absolutely lovely inn -- more like a bed & breakfast. It isn't the easiest place to find and it is down the end of a street near a marina and various types of housing. But what a gem when you get there.

The inn was refurbished in the past few years into an "arts and craft" or Frank Lloyd Wright architectural style. The room was cozy and modern. They had two CDs of romantic music next to the CD player on the nightstand. Nice flat screen TV (if you plan to watch it), lovely bathroom with a full glass shower.

The staff was very friendly. They had cookies and hot chocolate for us at night. The free breakfast was better than I have paid for in many high end hotels. My wife and I ate breakfast on the outside deck. Our view was of the nice garden. The other side of the inn has views of the bay, although I'm can't say how good they are.

There are probably less than 25 rooms in Miraloma on the Cove. We parked in the gated parking lot under the inn.

We stayed in higher end hotels in Vancouver and Victoria, but paid less than half their rate for the Miraloma inn and thought it was a much better place to stay.

I can't recommend this inn enough for couples of any age.

“Cozy quiet find”

Very restful location off the beaten path, yet very close to both the Swartz ferries and to waterfront Sidney. We enjoyed our great room overlooking a bay, with a cute little balcony. The room was as depicted on website photos - spacious, fireplace, frig and microwave. The TV screen was a little small given the room size, but OK. The bathroom was great - both a glass shower stall and a spacious bath. Robes were provided, which was very useful for the hot tub. The ground floor, adjacent to the underground parking, had a weight machine and a couple of aerobic machines in a nice little fitness room, plus a sauna, plus a reasonably large-sized hot tub just outside the building. The tub had EXCELLENT water jets. The only downside is that we could not seem to set the temp of the water - but apparently the owners could. The lobby was very comfortable, one floor up, and had a porch/balcony on two sides. Above the lobby is an atrium with 2 floors of rooms/suites opening onto. There was plenty of comfortable seating in the lobby, including a nice breakfast nook and a fireplace for evening cookies and hot chocolate. Board games were provided in both the lobby and in our room. Nice touch. Downtown Sidney is a short drive away (a few minutes). Be aware Sidney is small and many things close "early" (8 or 9pm). Ask the staff for recommendations -they steered us well in choosing between restaurants along the waterfront and along the main street (Beacon) area. We would highly recommend this place, especially to couples, and would stay there again. We hope they don't change anything about this place! We sat in the hot tub and watched a heron building a nest in a pine tree above. Oh, yeah, the grounds are really nice - much gardening effort.

    • Disliked — cool, impersonal ground floor transition between elevator and fitness rm/hot tub
