This is a small friendly hotel. We were in the annexe room, which was the last available and a little disappointing - looks like it may have been converted from a garage and is now in need of an upgrade. From a glimpse of one of the main rooms I had, they appear to be much better. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Pool is a reasonable size for the size of the hotel. Food is good and not rushed. Great views. Would return.

The hotel is overall pretty good. It is very popular with older travellers and groups.

Food is excellent and the staff are very good indeed. My room was comfortable and clean but a little bit dated and it could have done with a new duvet because it was lumpy. Also the TV reception is quite poor and its a very small TV.

Beware the pool, yes its there and in good condition but quite small and not one for people who want a good swim.

overall its a good hotel, comfortable and clean with an excellent restaurant. But it is mostly older travellers and the style of the place reflects this. Also its a bit out of the way but idea if you want walking and somewhere quiet.

This was our third visit to Lyzzick Hall. We have been impressed by the high standard of food offered in the restaurant and by the staff whom we have found to be without exception attentive helpful and hardworking. The proprietor is usually present and leading the staff with hard work and a cheerful comment. It is a tribute to him that the staff have largely remained unchanged in the year since we made our first visit. We particularly appreciate the swimming pool which is a good size and gives splendid views over the mountains and fells to the south.

Stayed at the hotel for just a Saturday night (no need to book two nights at the weekend). Phoned up in the morning and there had been a cancellation, otherwise the place was fully booked (which is probably most weekends). Firstly the location is superb - there cannot be many hotels that have such a dramatic view from the car park and front rooms. Our room was a standard one but it was fine for a night or two. We dined there too and had an excellent 5 course meal - just the ticket after a hard days walking! The service was very attentive and the only quibble is that the courses were served a bit too quickly. The hotel also has a large swimming pool as well. As has been mentioned the clientele could be described as elderly so it would not suit groups of young people - but so what? If you want peace and quiet, great service and a good location then this is the place. Will certainly be coming back again.
