Immaculately clean, comfortable room, good breakfast, beautiful and tranquil setting.

Friendly and highly competent owners who have fully refurbished the property and have a mix of B&B rooms and rental cottages.

Extraordinary value for money - the prices are going up in 2008 but at £35 per person it will still be excellent value.

In the Lake District National Park - located just off the A66 half way between M6 at Penrith and Keswick- near the village of Mungrisdale - at the foot of Blencathra. This a small rural hotel with fabulous views of the lakeland fells. The owners have made numerous improvements. Near Howe has a most informative website- recently won "Cumbria Website Of The Year Award". This is a place where you can enjoy real space - comfort - and privacy. The owners Jill and Steve make you welcome as soon as you arrive. As well as B&B there are 5 high quality self catering cottages and barns. I loved the bar for residents with traditional lakeland atmosphere and an open fire. And there is also a quiet residents lounge.
