We stayed at the Travelodge, in Bath Central.
Some of the rooms are quite large and roomy but ours was small. The TV didn't work (no aerial), there wasn't a kettle in the room (there were mugs and tea and coffe), we could not get the shower off once we turned it on, the cold water tap was steadily dripping and we could not turn that off, the bedside light and overhead light did not work.
We eventually managed to get the taps off and asked for a kettle at around 4 o'clock - our friends had a family room i.e
double bed and sofa but the bedding for the sofa was not in the room, they asked for bedding at the same time we asked for the kettle. at 6-30 neither kettle nor bedding had turned up so back to the receptonist, who told us that she had been unable to leave the reception desk and was on a break - she would get bedding etc after her break. To be fair, we did not see any other staff on the premises and she seemed to be on her own trying to do everything and not surprisingly not succeeding.
We went out, returned at around 11.30 - no bedding or kettle again in fairness the lady who was on reception this time did hand over what we needed immdiately.
Looking forward to a good nights sleep we went back to our rooms - and what do you know, there is a night-club in the basement (do not think it belongs to the hotel) so we had the lovely soothing BOOM BOOM to lull us to sleep, around 2 a.m. we expected that it must surely be closing for the night but no, around 4 a.am. we were so tired that we fell asleep exausted, nightclub still booming away!
We awoke early - did not dare to shower in case we could not turn it off and it would flood the bathroom again, returned keys to reception at 9 a.m. and gladly left the place.
However, if you can get over all the hiccups then the location is great - right in the centre and within walking distance to all shops and most amenities personally I prefer a hotel with taps that turn off, kettles, lighting and more than one member of staff to be seen.
Be aware that bookin-in time is 3 p.m., our friends arrived early to be told that their room wasn't ready but they could have a room to leave their luggage in for an extra £10 which they paid, guess what? Their room that wasn't ready was the one they paid the extra £10 for - which was ready and no they did not get a refund!
Had a good time in Bath though, lovely place.
