We stayed in the Travellodge, Bath Central for a weekend in February and had a fabulous time. The one thing you need to remember is that the Travellodge is NOT a hotel. It is purely a bed and bathroom. This particular TL is clean, warm and above all it is cheap. I think we paid about £75 which for accommodation smack bang in the middle of Bath is superb Value for money.
We had room 01, on the bottom floor and we were not affected by bthe noise (we may have been lucky).
If you are looking for a nice, quiet hotel whithout being disturbed then don't go here. Remember that Bath is a busy, bustling city with plenty going on including an active and noisy nightlife. If you want to be a part of that activity and want cheap and affordable accommodation then this is for you.

Don't let the great location fool you! It's the worst hotel I have every stayed at! There is a night club underneath - so if you get a ground floor room (of which there are 16 I believe) you have had it for a good night's stay! I complained at 1am and was told that they are always getting complaints! Shame that the staff have to put up with the complaints when Travelodge simply shouldn't rent out the rooms on the ground floor!

I got a refund for one night's stay and moved for the next night as far away from the night club as possible (which obviously was OK then) but don't take the rist - just stay somewhere else!

I booked this hotel about 2/3 months in advance, for a 1 night stay at the start of april 2008 and managed to get an excellent online price of £29 for a double room. Hotel was easy to find, very central, in the town centre and about a 10-15 min walk from the train station. When we arrived at the hotel we were told that we could not check in untill 3pm and there was not anywhere we could leave our luggage "for safety reasons" although we was advised that just down the road there was a "ymca" which offer a service where they can either hold your luggage for £1 for up to 24 hours in a room behind reception (not open to public, for staff only) or u can use a large secure locker at a cost of £3 for up to 24 hours. So we dropped our luggage here untill time to check in and also used these ymca facilities the following day after checking out at 12 noon as we was not travelling home untill late evening. In comparison you can pay £10 for an early check in at 12noon at the travel lodge but compaired to the price we paid for the ymca that seemed extremely expensive. The ymca is open 24 hours a day and the luggage storage facilities are very reliable and safe so if you need somewhere to store luggage when the travelodge dont let u..the ymca down the road is highly recommended. We stayed on a Thursday night so cannot comment on the noise levels during typical clubbing hours (weekends) although the only noise we heard at all during our stay was the sound of the birds tweeting in the morning. Our room was easy to find, clean, had a working tv, radiator, kettle, all the bathroom necessities etc and you could request a hairdryer or iron from reception if needed. We needed extra pillows and the recpetionist was more than happy to fetch these for us. Overall i would say the hotel is basic, yes in the sense there is no cafe, restaurant or anything and the rooms are also very basic, although clean, have everything you need really, is very central and ideal if you basically want somewhere to sleep at a very affordable price in the town centre. I would advise booking online, as the room rate on the day was £69ish for the thurs night or £86ish for the fri, where as we managaed to get it for £29 for the thurs night by booking online a couple of months in advance! We booked this hotel simply for the price £76 per night, not that cheap for a travelodge, but it was half term. we had a gruop of athletes who were competing the following day and as we were travelling from darlington it wasnt possible to travel on the morning of the competition so we just wanted a decent sleep....!!

we checked in at about 4pm, so weren't aware of our impending problem - the noise from the street, revellers all night until about 5am!!! it wasn't bad when we went to sleep, but the fact the hotel IS ABOVE A NIGHTCLUB....!!!well, needless to say myself (teacher) and the girls got very little sleep which was vital for them as they were in a national final the next day. as a result, they all underperformed and went back to the North East very unhappy. Obviuosly there was other factors maybe, but we felt there severe lack of sleep was a major factor. so, ASK FOR A ROOM ON TH BACK OF THE HOTEL if you want a decent nights sleep. if you're on a hen night, its prob ideal, but not for us!!!
