We had a 3 night stay over the August Bank Holiday weekend - I was a little concerned after reading some of the other reviews online, but we were very pleasantly surprised by Bailbrook House. The staff were excellent - always very friendly, courteous and helpful. The room (in a separate building next to the house) was very spacious and clean, with views down over the gardens. The hotel is in a great location - there's a bus stop at the end of the drive, and it's about a 5 minute journey into the city centre. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel, with a wide selection of fresh fruit, cereals, continental pastries, plus an excellent full English option. The evening meal was superb, and very reasonably priced - about £25 a head.
Although at present it's a 3 star, it's going to be refurbished later this year and brought up to 5 star status - we will definately go back (if we can afford it!!) - I'd thoroughly recommend Bailbrook House as a perfect base from which to explore the beautiful city of Bath.
